Go read the manga then now that you've watched the anime. From what I hear it's darker and more screwed up than the anime.. and since it's not the same guy making it, the story is different. I don't like what I've seen of eva enough to check it out , seems kinda so-so.

Just finished End of Eva...it sure was a great movie. That fight scene with Unit 02 was just awesome!!

One thing thats driving me crazy is the ending though, i just didnt understand it at all. Why the heck was Shinji choking Asuka?!

Oh, yay, something I've heard 1,000 times.

Eva for me did absolutely nothing. I've seen the entire series, and the "real" ending movie, which I've heard still had fans enraged, and this series seriously did nothing for me.

I hated the characters. Shinji has absolutely no character development, even by the 8th DVD he's still whining and complaining that he "Can't do it, Can't do it, Can't do it".

The storyline goes to crap about midway through.

Rei was one of the lamest characters ever, I know that she's just a "shell" but does that matter? I'm curious as to why so many people liked her.

This series has got to be easily the most overated series I have ever seen.

I seriously do not care about it. I've seen it once, and I don't want to see it ever again.

A real psychological thriller that actually has a storyline, impressive music, incredible characters that actually change throughout the series, and many other good things would be Rahxephon.

What? I think it's good I gave my opinion in this thread, it's good to spice it up instead of just possibly having "Yeah I love Eva. Oh me too!".

My 2 cents.

Ive seen SO many Rei Ayanami cosplayers and they all suck at it, except for this one girl. Her name is Lisa Pierce, I saw her pic in an issue of Anime Insider but I cant find any other pics of her online. I wish I could show you guys, its awesome!

I dunno, she's mysterious. I like her, she starts off as more or less a puppet and does change a lot through the series

Yay! So I was able to understand that series after all.

I figured out Death and Rebirth was the entire series scrunched down after I watched it...which lead to my massive confusion. Im really excited to watch End of Eva cause ill actually understand and enjoy that one.

Oh, whats with all the fandom around Rei Ayaname?

Yeah, I've heard about the live action Eva, and I'm not really impressed thus far with a lot of the stuff I've seen.

As for the movies, I meant End of Evangelion specifically; Death and Rebirth is okay, but more a rehash of the series than anything.

And you're right on both the things about Eva / Adam

Actually Ive seen the movie Death and Rebirth before I actually saw the series. It actually took me over a year after watching the movie to watch the series, now after so much confusion i understand Eva to a certain degree, and yes I loved it.

Im either going to rent or buy the other movie, end of Evangelion asap.

I heard about a live action Eva movie, any news on this? Is it still coming out?

My favorite character is Pen-Pen, he seems to be the most mentally stable in the entire anime. Favorite Eva Unit is 01 by far, cause its a berserker.

One thing Ive been wondering is, under an Evas armor is it just like a giant human?
Oh, and the second impact was cause by humans trying to capture Adam right?

Cause I know he was dormant for a while, then mysteriously exploded.

Evangelion was the first "real" anime I ever saw, and so it's definitely one of my favorites for that reason alone. However, it's the story and the emotional aspects of each of the characters that keep me watching it again, years later.

I LOVE Evangelion.

Every last one of the characters is flawed, and it's great. There is pretty much NO one-dimensional character in the entire story, even non-central characters have something to them.

The science fiction story that these characters are set against is stunning and amazingly detailed. The more you watch the series, the more you notice about how well put-together it all is.

I hope that if you've seen the series, you'll now see the movie(s), although I can warn you that it's... "fucked up".... in the same kind of way the series is.

I love Evangelion.

And my fave character is Misato Katsuragi, btw.

I finally finished watching the entire series and all I can say is "Woah". That was one of the craziest/emotional animes Ive ever seen. It was really hard to understand as well, I think Ive figured out most of it though.

Anyone care to discuss Eva with me? By the way ill allow spoilers from this point on, if you dont want anything spoiled stop reading riiiight about.....here.
