I don't think there is a way to install the "Windows Firewall" by itself. The best thing to do right now is reinstall Service Pack 2 for XP. Hopefully, this works.

Well, my problem is that Windows Firewall does not exist on my computer period. Security Center can't turn it on, and it's not anywhere in the list of Windows "services". I need it for Internet Connection Sharing, since they're literally 1 and the same in XP. I'll edit this post if any further developments in my bizarre case come up.

I thought W.Firewall was installed with XP and wasn't one of those 'deletable' things.

Gone into the Security/Internet Security/Whatever the Fuck It's Called dialoge? I'm actually fairly sure it's under "Security Center", at least it was for me.

(although, you'd be better off with a different firewall.)

I'm not even going to bother trying to detail all my trouble with setting up a home LAN, but can somebody please tell me how to install Windows Firewall? Obviously this applies to Win XP SP2. Any help would be nice, Google didn't find relevant results on a query of "install windows firewall". The service isn't in the services list either in the advanced mode or MSconfig.
