I like the concept of parts of the VR visor. The idea of the eye capture stuff does appeal to me at least for first person games, and the visor does look lighter than the Virtual Boy. I don't think it's designed to real movement though, looks like you make mimic motions standing in place and the "Brain" does the rest. For instance, left foot out=walk forwards, right foot out=walk backwards, feet diangle=turn, toes sperated=run like friggin' hell! But I'd rather take a controller over body scaning anyday. Atleast until gravity bending pods come out, and those aren't due out tell the winter of 2104.

Quick math question:
What's five hundred twelve million times how many polygons of the original Super Mario 64 castle?

EDIT: Now that I think about, the visor looks like it's a one size fits all deally, not only is that just plain silly, it's a bad design. So I'm leaning towards fake.

Dammit!

I get that too.
I found a working copy here though.

That was very entertaining. I didn't want it to end so abruptly.

The gameplay graphics were atrocious, but the intro and logos, especially the ON logo was highly believeable. I actually think it's a nice name. The Nintendo ON.

I've just noticed. That model of Mario is Luigi's wire frame with Mario's picture over it (I've forgotten the name of the picture that goes on 3d models)

Whoever made it had a lot of time on their hands. Considering how large the SM64 castle was, ans how many duplicates he created..... My computer would be dead by the time it would be finished! (Assuming I would've made it)

I think that this would be an extremely awesome console, honestly, but the main problem is that it uses real life movement for in-game movement. That simply doesn't work well; people would run into things, trip over things, etc etc, ie there'd be a lot of injuries. Note that Sega was making a nifty VR system at one point that likely would have been amazing (much better than Virtual Boy, which I also happen to like), but they canned it because they were afraid people might move around while using it because it looked so real and potentially hurt themselves. Replace MOST of that with using an actual controller and this Nintendo On system would be a winner; I would at least allow the ability to turn your head and have the game world move along with that.

But anyway, impressive video.

Aww, dang. It stopped playing six minutes and 21 seconds in. (About when it got to Mario) Oh, well. Was pretty neat, though... Only real problem I can see is that, from the looks of it, playing most of the games would require you get exercise. That's bad

A plausible explanation I heard on another board about Mario and his freakish tallness is that they wanted Mario to be more regular sized so if you're playing from his eyes you don't feel like a midget.

That castle bit was pretty cool.

And besides the numbers, what other proof is there that this is fake? I don't keep up on console news very well.

I find it... funny that it's using the SM64 (N64) castle when it zooms into the DS, and not the SM64DS version. I wonder where he/they got the 3D version of it thought...

...only 30 seconds? ON WHAT? Besides, much games loads much fast than that. If it's about copying a whole DVD, that fast. No no no no, unless you want 4646494 pieces of that DVD...

That's gotta be the most goofy looking Mario I have seen. XD

I wonder who made this, and why. Some student? A project a group made?

What in the heck are you talking about?

As someone who was actually alive for the release of both systems, I can confidently say that the NES came outaround October of 1985 in test markets in the US, whereas the Game Boy didn't hit until late 89/early 90.

Yeah. Mario looked so ugly!
But WOW!! That was so awesome! I almost wish it was real. Making your own games, recording games/DVDs in 30 seconds... It'd be weird using games with your own movements though. Imagine how tired you'd get. :p
Still... That'd sort the obesity problem, huh?

I *almost* fell for it until I saw "Mario" at the end...

Looks quite cool except for the fact that it was a headset. and it was fake of course. And bear in mind that the old "virtual boy" felt like it weighed 3 stone after playing with it for 15 minutes. They would have the technology by now to stop those sort of things. Anyway cool video and the gameboy came out before the nes btw

I'm downloading it now. It's gonna take a while though... damn dial-up!
I'll edit my post when I've seen it.

I've read that the Revolution is no thicker than 3 DVD cases side-by-side and will stand side-ways. Sounds nice.

Revolution Fake

...It is almost believable. Whoever made it makes this seem it was the real deal. If it weren't for the new details about the Revolution that Nintendo made known unto the world hadn't recently surfaced, this would have been what some people expected when the Revolution came out. Its pretty well made, but one thing that stands out is the numbers. The NES is NOT the Famicom. NES was released in 85, not 83. Another thing, the headset idea is flawed. It didn't work back in 94 and it wont work today. You have control problems, Motion sickness, and lawsuits from people playing in small rooms. Not to mention the price of additional headsets...

What are your thoughts?
