It has shown the system for all three but not the PS3 or Revolution games. They showed xbox360 games but not the PS3 and Revolution games, why not? |

the ps3 has been shown...at their press conference, and sony has a booth at E3....revolution has been shown also, they had a conference as well, just nintendo is hard to trust in this instance. |

I still don't get that they didn't show PS3 or Nintendo Revolution. They could of showed all of them at once not just the xbox360. |

maybe that was their intention  lol...but I dont see anything majorly wrong with the design of it...maybe they dont like it either, since in their press conference, they were using a ps2 controller. |

Like how Nintendo changed the DS, I bet that none of the design is final. It will be changed, unless the designers are really proud over it or something. Companies do after all react after the press. |

I agree only half....the 360 controller isnt the best....but I actually like the ps3 controller, its unique, and it seems like it would fit nicely into anyones hand...
now that ive seen the ps3, the 360 doesnt compare in any aspect, except the xbox live...that still kicks ass. |

Microsoft is most likely to port Virtual PC, their own X86 emulator for Macintosh/PowerPC. Could be said that a PowerPC have a easier time to emulate an X86, than a X86 is at emulating PowerPC. All three consoles in the next generation is using PowerPC I think, which probably makes porting between the consoles easier that can be a good thing... (Gamecube is the only one using PowerPC in the current generation) |

Personally I prefer the PS3 design over the X360 (what kind of a name is X360 anyway...?).
As for SquareEnix moving over to Microsoft, SE are only porting FF11 to the console, AFAIK SE are still exclusive to Sony for the series (FF12 has only been mentioned to be released for the PS3); now some people also thought that FF7 would be released to the PS3 after the tech demo, it isn't, all it was is a real-time (not pre-rendered) tech demo.
Dead or Alive 4 looks amazing on the X360, Gear of War looks amazing on both the X360 and PS3, I'm still waiting on the Nintendo Revolution stuff from IGN though I'm going to love the new generation of consoles!

I've read in a few places that the new xbox will only be compatible with the top selling games from the original xbox, and if they aren't best sellers, they aren't going to work.
This is one of the sources I've come across (I won't bother posting links to message board threads full of speculation on it, but that's how I came across this).
That would suck for current Xbox owners, only being able to play the best selling games on their new system, when it's competitors are fully backward compatible.
I hope this is a poorly written and misworded article and untrue. I never plan on getting one, but... that's just...

yeah I read in someones blog yesterday or the day before, that it might be $360 us..wouldnt suprise me at all...however we will have to wait an see for sure. |

As far as price goes, the "official" press conference starts in half an hour. I'd guess $299 but $360 wouldn't be out of the question if they want to be cute. |
