My hex editor of choice is Hex Workshop, which can be found here. Just make sure that you have found got a serial number once it stops working.

Do u know of the best hex editor I could use? I checked on Zophar for some, and I already have Mario World Reconfigurator but dont have the runtime files yet, is that a hex editor, or can you recommend a better one?

Yeah, but I found it after reinventing the wheel (finding the Misc. Text layer 3 data).

I just thought of that, JJ. What's nice is that I could find it tonight without needing to know the palette info because AFAIK goldfinger allows you to ignor certain parts of a string. (like this: [1] [ ] [3] [ ] [4], which would result in 01 45 03 a9 04, what I want)

Actually, I believe it's two bytes per letter. One for settings such as palette and mirroring, the other for the tile number. Otherwise a simple relative search would pop it up for anyone with rudimentary skills with a hex editor.

Hang on- The text used is stored in bowser's GFX file. Maybe you should look for the string of hex that points to the locations of the tiles with the letters. they would probably be one-byte-long letters. If I had a screenshot of bowser's GFX file in slot FG1 or FG3, I might be able to give you a valid search string.

I was working on one. I gave up, however, since the spaces aren't stored together with the text (as far as I know). The source code is lost, though. *I have to rewrite the 4bpp gfx loading/drawing routine sometime*

Is there any way I can change the text at the end that says "Mario's adventure is over. Mario, the Princess, Yoshi blah blah blah"

I cant seem to find an option in LM.
