I have it, but I haven't watched it for a while. When I try and remember the story it reminds me of how Microsoft started up at the very, very beginning.

I saw this a few months back when my Chemistry teacher didn't feel like teaching that day.
Oh man it was great. I didn't know it was old though.

I have it on DVD, and I absolutely love it. Definitely Jake Gyllenhaal's best performance. It's the kind of movie where you'll laugh and cry with the characters. As the movie progresses you feel more and more taken in by the story, and in the end you really want for everything to work out well for the characters. There are not many movies that gives such a great bond between the characters and the audience.

But, as Jarukoth said, it's Sky, not Skies, and none of the kids invent the rocket, the rocket is invented long before their time.

True: The name of the movie is October Sky.

True: This is a good movie. Saw it in science class a few years back.

True: The kid wants to take up rocketry after Sputnik goes into orbit. He doesn't invent the rocket.

I've never heard of it, actually...

Do you remember how long this movie is? I might look at it sometime, if it's not too long.

It's kind of old. But I like this movie. It's a true story of the person who invented the rocket! I've forgotten all the big parts off it (the inventors' names, etc.) but it really is good. My school has that movie on all the time...
