IE shouldn't have any problem with transparency in PNGs as long as it's not semi-transparency and the PNG has a 256-color pallete. |

KATW, they can have transparency, just not semitransparency, and they can't be pngs. Make them gifs with transparent backgrounds, and don't fuck with the colors. Then everything will be ok in all browsers. |

That looks better, but the brown in the middle is a little brighter than the brown in the border. It's hard to notice, though. |

It's not really the layout I have problems with, it's the person who decided to be one of the typical FireFox users (typical at this board, anyway) and simply assume that everyone can get FF and would like it more than any other browser.
While the layout's not great in IE, it is readable, so I don't have any real problems with it since the non-good elements are just browser incompatibilities. |

That, or he could change the transparent part to the brown BG color. It's not like there's some kind of fancy design that requires transparency to look good.

If the brown box filled up the text area like I THINK it's supposed to, then it'd probably look a lot better. As for fixing it, I have no clue how. |

I guess this layout was coded to where FF users see it correctly than IE users. All I can see (because I use IE) is a brown box in the middle, with a lot of blue on the outside. Making the layout look kinda off.
I'm guessing that's what the others were referring to. |

IE users, imagine all of that bright blue as being the brown color. That's what it's supposed to look like.
Not bad, I say. Though it loses points for the yellow/black stripey bit not always tiling correctly on the corners. |
