See if you can connect with the firewall off, it might be acting up. If some programs can do it, then the connection is getting through.

It was already on Passive. Didn't work. Also I tried Active Mode, and it didn't work either.

make sure you try using a passive connection, that usually works..atleast thats what its always on for me, and it works fine.

I'm trying to connect to my FTP using SmartFTP, but when it tries to connect, it gives me the error: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." I've been trying different things for over four hours, and nothing works. I have checked, and my login & connection information is correct

I thought it was McAfee Privacy Service that my dad installed that was making the problem, since it was the only thing different on the system since last time I connected. I had my dad disable it. Still didn't work.

I checked my Firewall. The allowed/blocked programs list shows it.

I tried using a different FTP program. Nothing.

The only way I CAN get in is through web-browser FTP (such as net2ftp)

What is wrong?
