That is the reason I like it. The difficulty alone makes the replay value go up.
The gameplay is also original. There really aren't too many 2D beat-em-up platformers anymore, and this game makes it work good in awesome cel-shading graphics. Really cool. |

All I have to say about Viewtiful Joe is... it took me forever to beat. Compared to most games these days, that thing is HARD. And that's one of the big reasons I loved it. |

Yeah, it's pretty 1337. My Ultra V-Rated Boss FAQ for it was accepted at GameFAQs (back then I went by HyperBlissey, incidentally).
It sucks that VJ2 didn't have any unlockable characters, though  |

I had it, too. I couldn't get off the game until a few 100 times after I beat it. Then I got profit for it at Gamestop. It is AWESOME! Now, why can't Mario games be more like that? I want the sequel!  |
