Hah, like anyone could tell. Maybe my sarcasm detectors will kick back in after IE7 comes out.

And, was Young Indiana Jones even good at all? o_x

Will it show cool shit like Vader (in the suit) slaughtering people? Guess we'll have to wait.

I doubt it. In the article, Lucas is quoted as saying he wants to make it in a similar style to Young Indiana Jones.
Yeah, but I'm a hopeless optimist. At least when it comes to Star Wars.

Got some new info on the live-action series;

Here's what we've been told officially about the upcoming live-action TV series from Lucasfilm.

100 episodes
1 hour each
based on a spinoff character
Lucas will direct first season
write season one at one time
film season one at one time
takes place between ROTS and ANH

from TheForce.net.

I thought the Clone Wars was alright the first season and good the second season. Probably because of the continuity and longer episodes, both of which would be expounded upon in the new series, so I'm hopeful for that one. As for the new live-action series... I don't know. It depends. Will it focus on a small enough set of characters for us to start to care about them? Will it show cool shit like Vader (in the suit) slaughtering people? Guess we'll have to wait.

I liked the Animatrix too! Except for that one episode, Matriculated anyways.

But yeah, what I saw of the Clone Wars was cool. Genndy Tartakovsky rocks!

Go die somewhere. Even a diehard fan would know that this is going to be horribly lame.

Think SW Animatrix. >______<

Hey, I liked the Animatrix.

To be fair, Clone Wars turned out pretty damn good. Let's not judge too harshly until we get some more info...

...unless we hear the words "Jar Jar" anywhere. In that case, you all know what to do.

the live action series is most likely going to suck, and the cartoon might be the same way because its not the way the clone wars was drawn. i dont even know if i will watch these shows because of that little fact.

I would love to see Gennedy Tartavoksy remake the starwars films like he did with the clone wars though...

I dunno. This could possibly be good, just so long as they don't take the route of Star Wars: Ewoks and Star Wars: Droids (I think those were their names, anyway...)

AFAIK, didn't Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory) do the currently already released animation shorts? They were pretty good, from what little I saw.

If he were to do animation stuff, I think it'd be good, just as long as Genndy had creative control, and not Lucas....

honestly i'm not excited in the least about the animated show. i would probably give the live-action show more than a passing glance.. but all in all i don't expect anything too great from either.

I don't know...

A live-action tv show could potentially cheapen the franchise. The only way I'd support it is if Kevin J. Anderson was one of the head writers, with other Star Wars novelists penning individual episodes. oh yeah, and they'd have to not recast any roles or replace CG characters with people in costumes.

Edit: I can just see it now. The Star Wars Holiday Special: The Series

In Indianapolis over the weekend at a fan convention, George Lucas announced that Lucasfilm is making plans for two new TV series that would continue his STAR WARS epic.

The first project Lucas told the crowd would be a 3-D animated half-hour show that expands on the Cartoon Network's CLONE WARS.

He went on to reveal that his company is also working on a live action series that would focus on the supporting characters in the STAR WARS film series.

Lucas also revealed that the company is working on a spinoff live-action series that would focus on some of the supporting characters who've been introduced in the various movies.

Both shows would be set during the time between SITH and A NEW HOPE.

as seen here.
