Balrog is actually a fire demon thing in Tolkeins writings. In lord of the rings gandalf fights one. It sounds like it may or may not have anything at all to do with this toastery thing but the relation to fire sounds like its possible. So... possibly could be a silent nod to Tolkein. man... I'm going to laugh so hard if everyone here knows what the Tolkein Balrog is and was ONLY talking to the refences made in this game and that I have, in turn, just made a big know it all ass of myself. Laugh, I tell you! In fact... I'm pretty sure most of you guys are nerdy enough with LotR that I didn't even have to say all that crap.
I've downloaded cave story but haven't played it yet. I'll get on that eventually. |

What a stupid question!
Everybody knows that Balrog is a perfect-ortoedrum (or whatever) but with round corners granite block carved as a plasma not-LCD missile launching telly. The current show in that telly is the famous "nerd face with two orange bands in the eyes lines's show", presented by nobody, cuz it's just a nerd face with two orange bands in the eyes lines. Sure.
