Doc, take one fresh Metroid rom. Get those sprites you posted in there. Make a patch out of it.

The patch will have the new Samus sprites and their correct location, and absolutely nothing else.

If J. Random Romhacker applies the patch to his hack, it'll replace only the Samus sprites. Guaranteed.

Go on, try it.

It's fun, really.

Please?

You're not understanding what I'm saying lol When you make an IPS file you have to select an unchanged rom. That way if you patch it to the original rom all it changes is the stuff you changed, but if you make an IPS patch with only one sprite changed, and then change all the other GFX on an original rom, when you use the patch you made earlier all of the GFX changes will be replaced with the original GFX.

Ips maker programs only copy changes made to roms. So if you change Samus's sprite only then that is all it will copy.

I didn't make an IPS file of it because if someone has already done a lot of graphics and wants to use the sprite they would have to copy and paste all of the changed graphics they did. If I used an IPS file it would replace all of the graphics in the game, and with the exception of Samus it's all the original stuff.

I think just about anything looks better than the original sprite, to be honest.

With everyone making Metroid hacks these days (Yeah I know all three of them) I decided to make a new Samus sprite for anyone to use if they want to. I was just kind of sick of Samus' giant head so I made the sprite, but if anyone making a Metroid hack wants to use it feel free to, just credit me for it.

That's what the sprite looks like

enclosed is a file with a .nes extention, it is NOT a rom. It's just the section of Samus' gfx that you have to copy and paste into a real Metroid rom. In order for them to work correctly, you have to use Grond's unused graphics patch found here: http://www.fortunecity.com/village/hancock/63/.
