usually most libraries are in synaptic, just do a search there, if not, you may have to build it...not too hard though. |

!
Thanks man, that did the job, most excellent.
I've used apt-get before on other systems, but now I'm having another problem (), I need to get libncurses, and sudo apt-get install libncurses doesn't work. |

what you need to do is this sudo apt-get install build-essential
that will download and install the c compiler and stuff for you.
edit: I wish I could get ubuntu to work without using vmware, but my pc doesnt like it...it restarts my pc when it trys to install ubuntu. |

I recently installed Ubuntu, which rocks. Unfortunately, I am unable to connect to the internet with it (I think). It could be that I entered an invalid IP when I said what I wanted the DNS to be, because when I try going to google.com, it says "www.google.com can't be found", and when I try going to google's IP, I get "Connection refused". I doubt this is a problem specific to Ubuntu, but I can't seem to get anywhere, or change my DNS.
edit: found out what was wrong with my DNS.
New problem, actually.
I'm trying to install Kismet, yet I need to install gcc first? |
