Ooh, I recall one in Banjo-Kazooie. In Click Clock Wood you're supposed to dump eggs in a hole to make a flower grow. I forget exactly when, but if you do it at a certain time (I think you do it when the flower's already grown, or in a different season) the game will glitch up. It like stretches out and deforms, and sometimes freezes the game.

And I guess the colour debugger in Pok

Right. I can remember two I stumbled across. One on Faxanadu, and the other on Super Mario World.

For the Faxanadu one, it was really me and my brother that stumbled across it, as we were working together to get through the game at the time (evidence of that is a bunch of continue codes for the game written on the dining room wall ). We finally managed to make it to the final boss, but for some reason, we had infinite Elixirs It should be fairly obvious, but that made it alot easier to beat the thing I don't know how we triggered it, as we still haven't managed to do that a second time

As for the Super Mario World glitch, it's most likely on a couple sites having to do with the game, but I found it by myself anyways. It's possible to hold a key (and maybe the P-block, but I haven't tested that), while riding on Yoshi. You simply jump off Yoshi, grab the key, but it on the same square of ground Yoshi's on, then jump back on him while holding the button to pick the key up. If you did it right, you should be holding the key at Yoshi's head level, and still be able to control him normally. That comes in useful if you want to take the key along with him, but don't want him swallowing it

Those are the two I remember, but there may be more still

I found 2 in Super Mario Sunshine. One let me wander around in the nothingness under Pianta Village. No clue why that happened. At least I was able to take a screenshot. I'm not certain it happened, but I think another one involved jumping around that one level's water wheel. In just the right place, you'd sometimes fall through the earth and die.

It's probably common knowledge, but we were playing Tony Hawk Pro Station 2 for PSone, and in the middle of a two player game that me and my friend were having, another friend removed the disk, put in Tekken 3, and I restarted the level.

What we heard were some of the most amazing pieces of music ever. Seriously! Sure, you might be able to get the music via redbook, but still, at that time.....

I remember in Super Mario World when i found out how to "carry" stuff with you while climbing... But the interesting thing to do is hold them while capegliding.

Put a P switch or something at the edge of a ledge and then capeglide towards it while holding the run button. You will revert to the running position while still being able to hold back to capeglide.

I also stumbled upon the Mockball in Super Metroid and figured out how to get to the Wrecked Ship right after you get your super missiles.

I found out a way to get weird, glitched levels in SMB1 with a Game Genie (by altering the "warp" codes)...I think I found a few other SMB1 codes as well, including one that switches all the music, that one was cool.

Most of the secrets I know of in games I learned from books or the Internet though...the primary exception being Kirby's Adventure stuff, I found out most of that on my own.

Lufia 2

Level 0 glitch I found on the real SNES the first night I played (easy enough to get it by accident, but doesn't seem too well known), the screenshots below show it well enough

As soon as you have at least 2 characters, go to Config, then some button combination in there will glitch it up with the inventory showing up ... then go back and:

The second character dies and drops to Level 0 (also got a nice messed up name ) ... then revive it for free, save the game, and reload:

Random stats each time, usually much higher than Level 99, and the character is stuck at 0 forever (if the EXP to next goes down to 0, it jumps back to another random amount) ... only bad thing is some 3-5 second delays in certain spots for each Level 0 character (whenever their EXP left is calculated, I think), but I can live with that

Mario Kart 64

Use a ghost or star while another player uses a lightning bolt, exactly at the same time, and both will take effect ... smashing a tree away while shrunk was funny I got this maybe twice total in all the time I've done 2 player VS mode, so it's pretty rare unless you really try ...

You're correct. The letter writers and contest winners had their names printed, but everything in Classified Information was listed by agent number. I don't know if the numbers actually matched up to individual people, though. I wouldn't be surprised if more than one person independently discovered and sent in the same trick before it was published and they all got squished into a single agent number to make things easier.

In THPS3, where you can access that glitch area when you jump over some fences/walls in Rio.

If I recall correctly, something similar happens in THPS2. (Enabling Double Moon Physics and jumping far enough out of bounds in NY and Skate Heaven gave you either a small space to skate in, or caused your character to disappear. Fortunately, this was fixed in THPS2X.)

Randy and his brother discovered the hold left on Controller 2 bug to super jump (and become invincible if you fall down a pit and then jump out) in Mega Man 3 while just messing around. I'm pretty sure they were the ones who sent it into Nintendo Power.

And if I still *HAD* my old Nintendo Power issues still I could have checked that very one to see who it was credited to. (Someone needs to put up a torrent of as many .pdf NP's as possible, but that's an aside.) I think I found that trick through GamePro come to think of it.

My cousin and I found the Freakytown glitch in Zelda II. Go to Darunia and find the tallest building. Cast Jump. Get up there, jump off the top of the screen, and cast Fairy while you're offscreen. Press on the control pad to fall down into a glitched town made up of stuff from various towns in the game. You can keep going through doors and edge-of-screen gates to get two-toned bushes and clouds, changing music, and the occasional bat that won't die. Careful, though...if you walk through the wrong gate (I think it's the one on the right edge of the screen) too many times, you'll get stuck in the ocean near Maze Island and have to reset. I would love for a bored person with a good knowledge of NES debugging to figure out exactly what the hell happens during that entire process.

My friend found a cool glitch in Smash bros. for the N64.
Requires two foxes, and Ness
Take the two foxes, and place them a fair distance away from each other. Each fox should continually use their shield ability (the one that can reflect attacks, like samus' beam cannon). Use Ness's electrical ball attack, and guide it towards one of the foxes shields. It must reflect exactly parallel to the ground. If done correctly, the ball will continue to bounce back and forth between the foxes and their shielding. After about three or four bounces, the entire game will freeze!

Well, I found one:
Halo 2: In that level, where you hunt that heretic, if you still have a Energy Sword in that point where he talk`s trough the glass and then fly`s away with a Banshee, try to slash him. I flew trough the glass. Dont know what happens if someone kill`s him...

Link's Awakening, what a glitchy game. I remember finding out that I could pick up and throw pieces of the forest. Also in Zelda OoT, I once tossed a chicken into the water down at the bottom of Gerudo Valley... it walked right off a waterfall, and just kinda hovered. I found a lot of little things like that in OoT, most of them are written down somewhere... (See, I actually write these things down instead of just forgetting them. )

I actually found a secret code in my alarm clock once. If I held a certain button combination, it would display the seconds counter... Seems like a rather odd thing to have a secret in.

OH YEAH

also in LoZ:LA- the veeeery begining has you in marin and tarin's house. the first time i played the game i moved a box from an odd angle, yet could never move anything similar in any other area of the game. why? useless.

Marin moved when i re-entered the house to prove my point.

Although it's a well known trick now, yes I did find one for Donkey Kong Country.

When the game was pretty new, me and my friends were just sitting there and playing the game. We got to the first Mine Cart level, and did that "Roll+Jump" trick, and could jump infinitely (out of the cart).

We did that completely on our own, and we wanted to submit it to Gamesages (remember that great site that IGN killed?), but were to lazy to I guess.

Meh. It was cool.

I'm sure there's more, but yeah. That's just one that sticks to my mind.

Kid Icarus- goofing around on the password screen sent me to the final level with all these mega power ups, flight, and incinvibilty. which was strange to me because i never was able to get past the first dungeon and went to the password screen in frustration and ingnorance. It wasn't one of those passwords that spelled anything, just jibberish.

SMB3- commiited suicide on leve 8-2 by way of quicksand only to reveal that I cannot do anything right! Also, in bowsers castle, the steep steps section where you reveal the hidden 1-up, if your crouch and funky jump between the 1-up block and ceiling then stand up, you'll slide threw the wall into the pod-a-boo area. only useful with the p-wing.

SM Kart- wanted to be random on choosing a driver so my brother and I flipped our controls to face the ground and gave 'em a swat. lo and behold, his racer shrank.

LoZ Links Awakening- not really a glitch, but using the boomerang and the hoovering chicken/rooster made for a fun weapon mix.
