This would suck, especially since I just turned 17

Granted, I wouldn't go buying stuff like GTA, I'd stick with Silent Hill 1 (even though I can never finish the game) and Halo 2 and mabye some Unreal tournament.

But this would obliterate the AO rating -- AO, is, afterall, 18+ in the basics =/

No no no. What happened is, Virgin (the group making Thrill Kill) got bought, and the people who bought them thought it wasn't good game material, so it got canned.

I can think of a few console games that would be AO, if they wasn't unlicensed games...

I heard Thrill Kill was going to be AO rated, but they canned it for some reason... problably due to marketing reasons. How would they expect that thing to sell?

I think Thrill Kill was going to be a M but I wouldn't be surprised if they canned it mainly due to the fact they wouldn't GET a M for it.

Yeh. There are none. There was gonna be Thrill Kill IIRC, but then that game never got made and only the PC beta is around anywhere.

Kario's wrong, I can't recall any console game being AO. Plenty of PC porn/hentai games, but nothing on consoles.

Yes, they are on console as well.

Mind listing a couple, then? Seeing as I cannot think of any console game rated AO.

You could probably sue them if they refused to sell to you, because you legally should be "grandfathered in"

My bad, I worded that wrong. I meant any console games rated AO.

Although as I look at my 4 h-games, I see no ESRB rating on them.

Anyway, an "up" rating would only indicate that somehow ALL M-rated games are sex n' porno games, even nill violent games like Halo/Halo 2. Sorry, sex AND violence, for the most part, just don't mix when it comes to gaming. There might be some over-the-top M games like GTA or Getaway containing both, but usually it's rated such for one or the other (AO if it's a pornographic sex-fest).

There are. They're generally made by companies like Jast & Peach Princess and feature anime-style porn.

Edit: Oops. I missed the first sentence of Ailure's post.

There is alot of AO games Lord Rahl, most of thoose just are... porn games. :/

We never had a 17+ rating in Europa. Our current Pegi rating have 3+ 7+ 12+ 16+ and 18+, and then markers if the game contains Violence, Sex, Drugs, Bad Language, fear and Discrimination.

You have to keep the AO rating since that's the only way to distinguish between "Mature" games and pornfests. :\

That employee wasn't stupid - he was just doing his job, and he might have been the ONLY guy at Wal-Mart who was doing it. Still, it was the right move *given* what the law says.
