I know that I can set the length for them. I found that out yesterday.

You can set a length for GSFs too. And if they lag while playing, the recorder stops too, so the WAV still comes out right. Same with USF (and probably others).

Ah, thanks. It helped. I was confused because I had never used Disk writer before.

Uhm...the Disk Writer plugin must be deselected to play files normally. Change your output plugin back to Directsound or whatever you have for default output in your options. That should fix the problem. And trust me, I had this problem too and I slapped my head several times when I figured out how easy it was.

As for a GSF rip, you hit play and it will start ripping the GSF to disk until you press stop. It'll make a file. At which time, if you're done with the rip, you can change back to DirectSound. After that, it's a matter of cleaning it up in such places like Goldwave.

I tried to make a wav file when playing a gsf file in Winamp using the diskwriter plugin but the only thing it does is this.

You can play those files for a few second and then it stops. No sound or anything. And everytime I play them Winamp adds one more file that grows and grows in size.
