The mapdata is compressed with lz77.
Look for the Tileset-pointer and some bytes around, there is one for the compressed mapdata.

Like I told you, the -map- is compressed, just like the graphics it uses. You asked it just fine, but misread my answer. Try again. |

Sorry, I asked wrong. I want to know where the MAP(the data that explains where the tiles will be put) for the world map is, and I DON'T want to know where the TILES(the small 8x8 pictures that the map is built up of) for the worldmap are 'cause I've already found them. It cannot be compressed because there are more than 16 diffrent tiles. |

Such as?
(Using translhexicon and something called xvi32... not sure if there is better for hex editing. Althought I like xvi32 quite much...) |

Map data's compressed too, just like the tile data. An SWI log shall show you the way.

Does anyone know where the MAPdata (NOT tiledata)for the world map is located in ruby? I've really tried to find it with a hexeditor and have searched in other posts but haven't found it, partically because my hexeditor can't do simple relative searches... |
