I might try out that Galactic Battle, the sprites seem pretty easy to find. I really don't like charging the button to run. I hope I will be able to do something about that. Reduce the amount of time it takes to charge or something. No guarantees I'll hack it tho.

They are all NES/Famicom games, albiet Japanese.

http://hti.rpgclassics.com/nj.shtml

Here is an English Translation. The English version is called "Squashed" but it was never released.

Don Doko Don 1 & 2 are also Famicom but I think they have translations as well.

I wanted to try to "mario-ize" a famicom game, just because it would be a new game to me because I am in the US. I am way out of my league here though

Well, not many people can do arcade game hacks. I'm among them so I can't help you there.

I don't see any Ninja jajamaru by the name of galactic battle for nes. If its not a NES game I probably won't bother hacking it cause I'm trying to hone my skills on NES before I move on to other systems.

I'm glad to play the final product, the game is pretty fun with that Mario theme. I wish the game was more harder that the bosses coulda take more hits, you did a good job Hiro. Thanks for taking the time to make this hack.

Ya, I used gameboy colorizer. You can find that at zophars domain. There isn't many games that are compatible with it tho so you should be warned. I had to get help to fix the scrolling when I colorized the game. The music was never fixed but that isn't so big a deal. If you need music u always have the B and W version.

The only version of GB Colorizer I've seen around is 2.3. I have 2.4. I should add that to my site sometime so people can use it.

Alright. Thanks for it. Can you tell me how you made the game colored? Is there any tool floating around on the net I don't know yet?!

Sorry, the download link for the Super Mario land patch has been fixed. I'm not sure what you are asking by what does the rom need to be loaded into. If you mean emulator then any gameboy color emulator should run it.

Really a great hack. If I didn't know it wasn't a mario-game officially released, I would have run to my nearby VG-store to get this one.

...one question aside: What happened to your Marioland-hack? The download-link seems to be removed... so I couldn't try both the B/W and the color-version...

By the way: what do I actually have to load the Rom into, so that it's colored like on the screenshots?!

excellent hack, i loved it, it does feel like a Mario game, even with only the gfx change.

There was another one...it had to do with Babs running away to Hollywood, I believe.

I still didn't get a chance to play the demo yet! I just got back online from the whole moving ordeal, so soon I'll have the time to play it. Congratulations on the hard work.

I've never played TT2 But I think its supposed to be a bunch of minigames so I probably won't do it to that game. This is pretty much the last version for this hack cause I've done everything i wanted to do with it.

Iamhiro1112 I enjoyed the update on this hack, Are you planning to do a Mario sequel with Tiny Toon Adventures 2 - Trouble in Wackyland? Nice work regardless.

Trahykins I like your'e Ninja Saga, it's really good & very original. *Thinks of trying Lunar Magic*

Well, if no one else is going to reply, I will!

I liked this a lot. It just goes to show, any idea that's well-conceived and executed can be a fun hack. You don't need all sorts of weird ASM tricks or -- in this case -- even level alterations, as long as it's a significant enough change.

Anyway, this was really good. The ending was funny, too... keep up the good work, let us know what your next projects will be!

Ok, I finished up my Marioization of Tiny Toon hack. I changed all remaining Tiny Toon Sprites and fixed the pallette issues in the earlier release. I had wanted to change the building color in the construction level but I could not because it shares the pallete with the ground and drumcans. So anyway, here is the link to the patch.
