I had no idea what it was about, just a bunch of friends telling me it was incredible and that it was. I've been told it followed the graphic novels perfectly, which is really impressive. I hope tehy end up doing the other four. I could definatly sense a little bit of quentin in this movie. The movie is not for everyone, i could see how people would hate this, very violent, very edgy, and very over the top, but the directorship was incredible. It has to be one of the gutsiests artistic attemps i've seen in a long time. The movie felt like a graphic novel, the way it was all black and white and everything was exagerated. I'd definately say that if you're into the art aspect of movies, even if you don't like the film itself you will love the movie. I'd also ahve to say that marv's story was just plain badass, i loved it. "Say, taht's a nice coat you got on."

I made the entire theater laugh out loud when Elijah Wood came out, I yelled "Holy crap, Harry Potter is in this movie!"

When he was sitting there with his limbs cut off, I leaned over to my brother and screamed (well, y'know, one of those whispering scream type things), "FROOODO!!!"

Lame.

Sin City, however, is a kick ass movie. Loved it. Marv's tale was the best, Marv being the big dude seeking revenge for Goldie.

If people are honest, Elijah Wood did look like an older Harry Potter. They should consider him if this kid doing it know dies or gets acne bad later on.

As I'm old enough to see it myself, without the debate on carding (although I did manage to see Robocop AND the last three Freddy Kreuger films thanks to my Mum who worked in the cinema )

I've seen this film... it doesn't actually come out over here for a few months but I have means....

And... well itr's not the BEST film ever made (which some people think) and it's not the WORST either (which others think). It's very sylised, and will end up being a cult classic, it's also extremely violent and hedonistic, there are some characters and images I can't get out of my head though for some reason. It's good, if I had to rate it it would be an 8/10. It's a bit degrading to women though, the prostitutes of old town are the only ones with any power it seems, no 'normal dames' at all. Still, it makes me want to seek out the novels, which, as Tarantino allegedly said about it - is "mission accomplished".

even though my previous statement was correct, i feel that it it better that i try to not be such an ass all the time. anyways, were not talking about hannibal, so i dont know where the hell that came from.

It was only an example. He told us that he couldn't get into the cinema, and I told him that the manager here didn't cared if my cousin wanted to see Hannibal when he was 13.

By the way he looked, I thought the same thing, but didn't say it aloud for fear of a fist flying at my head.

Besides, I really didn't want to; the movie was just too good. Though I have to admit Miho and the killer hookers kinda dulled me to the rest of the movie, which was still awesome no matter how you slice it.

Pft, there would be no doubt in my mind that I would have no problem ensuring that you get railed right in the wind pipe.

I probably would have just said "Holy crap, a jackass is in the audience!" But the punching is good, too.

i wholeheartedly agree that this film was 'brilliant' as has been stated. Although I had previously known nothing about Sin City, and was extremely skeptical about the star-heavy casting, it turned out to prove me wrong at every step.

great use of lighting and effects. the black, white, and selective coloring didn't seem gimmicky at all as i had feared. everything seemed to flow and i greatly enjoyed the vignette-ish plot. I think i liked it much more because i wasn't expecting much at all, and frankly sometimes i'm a film snob.

i rarely enjoy watching movies twice, but the way this story was told, i'd go again in a heartbeat.

Dude, Sin City was absolutely brilliant . I tell ya, Elijah Wood was the perfect guy for the Kevin role . I am really looking forward to more Frank Miller adaptations .

My dad and I were going to see it, but hes a liar, and would rather play a game of golf instead of spend time with his kid.

At the beginning it says he was a "Special Guest Director" he only directed one scene.

What did Tarantino have to do with it? I don't see his names in any credits online.

I want to go see this movie. Soon...even though I know absolutely nothing about it except that it's based on a comic, the comic's creator had a large amount of control over it (right?), it's dark and grotesque, and Robert Rodriguez co-directed it...reasons enough for me to see it.

I skipped last period to see this movie. And it was BRILLIANT.

Letting Frank Millar take the reigns was a stroke of brilliant on Rodriguez and Tarantino's part, and not standing to that fact, it followed the comic book chronology to a tee and was absolutely amazing.

I know there is already a thread, but that was all speculation before it came out. It is out now, and here is what I think about it.

Horrible movie. The director guy said the filmed it in about 10 days, and it was obvious. It was a waste of time, money, and talent. The plot was hard to follow, at the end it all made sense, but it still seemed ridiculous. Any one else see this yet?
