Well, I pretty much concur with everybody else. If I were you, I'd look at -- at the very least -- making those pictures smaller for starters.
Keep working on it, eventually you might get some "Yes" votes.  |

I think the 'post background' field is borked, you need to put one in manually.
And you scared me with that Sonic stuff, for a sec I thought it was one huge image.  Kill the white, though, it's quite a pain. I suggest not having any background colour, or maybe a small repeated image such as a chunk of level from the game. (Keep it small though, or 56Kers will eat you. Slowly.  ) |

With all due respect, I think this layout is beyond salvation. Instead of trying to fix it, you should just unplug the life support and have a respectful cremation, then make a new one from scratch.
"Simple" is in style. Try a simple layout! |

I concur with most of the opinions already stated. My primary complaint, though, is that your layout lacks direction. It looks as though you just randomly added "stuff" (animated GIFs, marquees, gratuitous AB rank/posts/etc counters) to the layout until you decided it was "done"... there's no direction, no goal, no cohesion (beyond having a general "Sonic" theme). It's one giant orgy of "look what I just learned how to do!!1".- The post content area is too narrow, for reasons not the least of which are...
- ...the images along the side of the post content area are too big.
- The links (located all over the layout) to your forum, are broken... don't add a linebreak to them.

I would start by, at the very least, getting rid of the two big images flanking the post content area, and make said post content area not width-limited. And lose the SA2 logo at the top. |

Its ugly, but could be easily improved for a decent layout.
Heres what I'd recommend you do:
- take out that flaming text.
- make the characters smaller.
- make the main background black so the images don't look all messy on the edges.
- take out line breaks so everything isnt so tall.
- make sure the text box stretches the whole way across, until it meets the characters.
- take out the marquee and stats. Put your forum link in your sig under the dashed line.
It should look pretty decent after that. |

Personally, if you are going to have a layout, make sure the background fills your posting space... It doesnt look as bad.
Its a nice start... maybe a bit big...
BTW, animated GIFs in my book are a no-no.  |

I don't. The flaming text thing is old, distracting, and looks extra-shitty because it's antialiased for the wrong color background. I hate marquees. The logo at the top and the characters on the sides are also badly blended with the background, and they're far too large. The colored text in the signature is ugly, but it's actually the best part of your layout.
Just my opinion. |
