I call Nintendo of America training it's reps 'incorrectly'. Damn you NoA.

Then again, knowing Nintendo's record of secrecy and practically being the MI6 of gaming companies, I wouldn't be surprised if they had spies. SPIES. Licenced to stomp on people's heads.

I'd like to see the paper trail on this baby. Because if anyone here knows a Namco shareholder, they have access to business reports. And if the business report gets into Ziff's hands, I can tell you what to make of this all.

And why would Nintendo know so intimately dealings that should be secret between namco, Sony and MS?

I call shennanigans.

And besides, Revolution's backward-compatible with the GC and I think the new Xbox will be with the old Xbox. So I can't buy that.

I'm with Colin on this, it doesn't sound right to me. I severely doubt the release of SCIII will be anywhere close to Nintendo's next thing, and even if it was it wouldn't make *that* much difference.

And the PS3 last? Now that would be mighty odd.

However, on the off-chance this Nintendo rep actually has his facts straight, that could signal a later release of SCIII on the new consoles, which some zippier graphics and such. *Possibly*. Or not.

Since they didn't want to be a system that was due for a next gen around the time of the launch of SCIII, they went for the Ps2. Why be on the GC and the Xbox, when their next gen will be out soon? Its all about how much money can be made. Now, if SCIII would be on the next gen systems, then it would have been on at least two different systems. So in a way, you have to blame Namco, and Nintendo and Mircosoft for this foul ball.

Damn them! My cousins have sold their PS2 so I can

Mmmm, I wonder if they can make games adjusted for X86 run fast on a PowerPC console. Microsoft switched from X86 to PowerPC.

...unless they make two consoles in one somehow.

I was talking to the Nintendo rep today about SCIII, and I know why it's only on the Ps2.

The console wars are good, otherwise we wouldn't have consoles at affordable prices. Still, I can honestly see Sony losing shares to Microsoft and Nintendo if they release PS3 with as high price in the next generation. Thought in general, the next generation of consoles is so unsure. Heh, maybe Microsoft get a big share in the next generation... but it would just be scary if they got a majority in yet another area. ;

I know that Soul Blade was on the PsX, (we actually had a copy of it at the store a few weeks ago), but on the Saturn? It sounds familar, but....I'm gonna look it up realt fast to see.

Bingo, that didn't take me too long to find.

Actually, the orginal would be Soul Blade, so I should make this question clear, I mean Soul Calibur one, that came out on the Dreamcast, was that only on the Dreamcast?

Yes, 'Soul Calibur' was only on the Dreamcast.

Soul Blade was for the PSX (maybe Saturn?)

So you're right.

By the way, is Soul Blade good?

Certainly, gaming would be different with out the infamous 'console wars', but there's nothing *positive* in having the sequel to a game that was released on all three systems being reduced to just one. It's just a bit of a smack in the face for a large number of SC fans who were introduced to the series on the GC (and the Xbox owning SC fans too, of course).

Oh, and yes, it was multiplatform on release.

'I would have loved to play with Link,'

And if it came out for all systems it would make EVERYONE happier. There's some twisted logic in the statement that it makes them extra happy because they can play it and certain other people can't. That is the case with some people and that's pretty sad when you think about it.
And when you have all three newer (main) systems, you tend not to care either way. Course, I don't have all three, but two. But if all the systems had all the same games, then why bother have three different types of systems? If this was the case, the Ps2 would be dead ( mean, without Final Fantasy and other great RPGs that are only on the Ps2, it wouldn't be Ps2, but PsWho?), Xbox would be the main graphics systems, as well as being online, and Gamecube would be the more durable system. I used to be a Ps2 fangirl, but then I was shown the light, due to a comic that I saw about two months ago. Now, I still favor Ps2, but I'm not going to throw the other systems to the dark, or anything of the sort.

But, those people who buy a system for one, ONE, game (like Halo 2, and I have seen it), I just can't understand it. I mean, sure, I wouldn't mind getting a GC just for the Zelda game coming out, but come on, to buy a $100 system for just one $50 game, nah, no thanks, I have other games that I can play instead.

You really do sound like a Sony Rep sometimes.
What can I say, work has been rubbing off on me when I talk about gaming.

But like I said before, SCIII might hit other platforms later on. I can't rembember if SCII was multi when it first came out, but I think it was. I would have loved to play with Link, but, that was only on the CG, of course.

You really do sound like a Sony Rep sometimes. O.o'' Surely nobody cares about demand to buy a certain system other than the company behind the system and the fanboys who need reassurance that other people love their console of choice as well as them.

Ok, there are some cases where you hope it generates sales so the company doesn't, like, go downhill, but Sony sure isn't in trouble of THAT.

But, I think in due time, it will be multi-platform. I mean, look at RE4. Capcom said it'll only be on GC, and now look, its coming out on Ps2 this fall. So nothing is really certain.

Yeah, Ziff's right about RE I think... and even so, I heard that the PS2 version doesn't exactly look that impressive because it's hard to have the PS2 hardware handle it. Reduction in polygons and the like.

I think the Create-A-Fighter part sounds pretty cool, can't wait to see what that's all about.
