Mandrake is supposed to be good for beginners. I tried it a bit, seemed nice enough.

Fedora core does run on a such PC, and I actually do have it running on a such computer but as FreeDOS said... well. Fedora core is little bloated for a such OS.

You can even try running Zipslack if it uses FAT32 but that Linux is not too intresting or useful. You might also have tp repartition the HD, but that's not too hard with QTparted.

You mean what GNU/Linux distribution you should try, eh? Careful around people like me... don't like credit taken away from GNU which provided almost the entire operating system. Linus Torvalds only made a kernel and called it Linux.

Your computer is pretty low-power... don't get Red Hat or its clones (SuSE, Fedora) that will eat your resources. I'd say Slackware if you avoid using GNOME or KDE (the mothers of memory hogging), and want a recent software. You might even like using a DamnSmallLinux harddisk install.

You have a small hard disk. How much are you currently using?

Hey I have a question, I want to have Linux on my computer and I was wondering what type of Lniux OS I should try first. My computer is at 466Mhz 11 gig hard drive plus 192 MB of of SD RAM

is this enough to do a dual boot on my PC ?

thanks
