I was talking to Googie while he was at work through AIM today, I asked him what are the stats on some hacks he was working on. He told me that now that he works full time hours he's not going to have alot of time to work on his hacks. He also told me that he kind of lost interest to hack. And from what I beta tested on his SMB3 hack it is really good.

What I'm trying to say Rockman is that when real life gets in the way, personal hobbies have to be pushed aside for a while. Don't beat your head trying finish a hack in a hurry, take your time, once you settle in your new home then you can think about your hack again. Release the demo dammit! j/j I hope everything works out well for you.

EDIT- I enjoy your'e work, Googie sent me that MM hack with the Fire Man stage done and I liked it very much.

It'd be awesome if people would do that more often.

Hey, could you please crack the art format in Knuckles Chaotix? You'll get credit for your work.

Well gee! Does that make you want to go do it?

I'll take that into consideration.

After talking to rockman last night about this, he got me to go ahead and release my Faxanadu hack (more like pallet).

ASM hacking takes quite a bit of time, it easy to get burned out on a game like that (I didn't have many values to work with for SMB2, which is the reason I know most of what I find is new. That kind of motivates me to keep looking). SMB3 has most of the data already documented.

Real life problems are another big issue it seems. Moving? Why did you need to finish this hack by the end of the year anyway? Take as long as you like. As long as it's up to par of what you expected, that should probably be good enough for at least half the guys around here.

On world 3 sofar, so that's approximately half way though (World 8 doesn't have many levels compared to Worlds 6 and 7). Hope to know what you plan on doing with this now that you've heard from Parasyte and everyone else here.

I wonder just what the ratio is between "incomplete" and "dead" projects around these parts. Seems "incomplete" would be the bigger one.

Hey Parasyte. Hate to bring this up here, but I'm getting pretty desperate. Did you get a chance to view my '...writing a new metroid hack' thread? I'm stuck at Kraid's lair (full explanation there). You've looked at the code pretty closely for this game, any idea why the items have all disappeared? Any help would be utterly amazing!

On topic- I would be willing to do some tile editing for this mario hack, and do a serious job of it, as long as i can be assured it will be actively worked on.

We need to support each other, i would hate to think how many hacks never get completed.

A lot of people around here seem to have similar problems. I suffer from utter lack of motivation at random intervals, and jump around between MANY projects like mad. I know bebit feels the same way at times. Maybe Disch as well. Can't really speak for Dahrk Daiz, since he seems to keep only one active project, and he works on it rather constantly.

Anyway, you should consider what everyone else in your situation does: Throw it on one of your several back-burners and pick it up later. Sure, it won't get any work done... But it will always be right there on a boring night, when you don't feel like working on anything else.

We really have no idea how far along in the game you are. I think you should give us these details before anyone makes a decision to help.

I don't know what you mean... I was thinking about just letting somebody else take over the project, but I figure I would ask for help first. Some people are interested in the hack. I don't want to see my work go to waste.

The past couple days, I lost all motivation for my SMB3 hack: Race Against Time. Sometimes it happens like that, then I eventually get it back. But, I need help if I'm going to get this hack out by the end of the year. Its a lot of work to do a big project. I want a complete hack, levels, graphics, palettes, ASM hacks, etc. Is there anyone, who is good at Super Mario Bros. 3 hacking, want to help me? I am going to be moving at the end of this week, so I won't be online for a couple weeks. Also, I have a lot of plans. I just feel hopeless right now. I could use some help, or any advice you can give me.

I'm looking for high quality, yet something thats fun and people will want to play. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. You get credit for all your work, and remember, this hack is for the people to enjoy. Thats why I'm working on it. Thanks.
