This is an interview about the mapmaker before the release of Future Perfect.

Now I think that the mapmaker in this one will be really really good. I still play around with the Timesplitters 2 mapmaker and have made some really cool deathmatch maps although none have the sniper since there really isn't a point in it...

In Future Perfect, however, I might use Snipers a whole lot more if what they say is true.

I am getting this game real soon... after I pay the down payment for my dad's 84 Monte Carlo... I need a car before I need a game.

If you're a veteran TS player, you'll figure out the controls pretty well except there is a separate button to toss grenades with, I believe it's L1.
Toggling through weapons is kinda slow too, I wonder if you can change that?

Some spoilers below...

In the 1920 mission (aka mission 2) there's a part where Cortez meets with his future self on top of a grate above him. He says, "Hey! You up here!", "Wait, you're me!", "Here! Take this key! Be sure to pass it on when you're done!".

Later, he runs into his past self upstairs and says the same exact thing. After that he says, "Man! That was cool!".

The mapmaker I cannot say too much about since I had'nt the time to play PS2 too much. I may update this thread with a list of unlockables and perhaps a walkthrough if I'm crazy enough.

The mapmaker and the AI control will take some time to get used to. You have to push "O" if you want to change the settings. Also all your favourite songs, yes, ALL your favorite songs from past TS games are included! I'm trying to see if I can make a 3 story building without having to seal off the second floor.

There are 4 different monkey characters! Monkey fans would love Brains, Ninja, and Cyborg monkey.

Geez, I'm just hoping that people didn't notice this thread yet...

But I been really wanting to get this game ever since playing the second one. Planning to get it today or tomorrow, if I have enough money after buying books that is... One thing that I'm looking forward to is the mapmaker, mainly because it sounds like it's had a MAJOR upgrade from the one in TS2. Also, since the single player mode had such a nice feel to it, even though it lacked a LOT of story, I thought that since this one had an actual story and new levels, I might as well buy it.

And of course, all those interesting challenges and Arcade Leaque stuff to get hooked into as well. Man, I think that I'm going to be closed out of contact for a while after today.

Though, I would really like to hear more about the Mapmaker from those who have fiddled with it. I mean, what's it like?

After all this waiting, I have it!
The gameplay is amazing and the stories are very cinematic but somewhat tutorialized. You get to meet up with your past and future self and save the day with a computer ally. The only drawback is that if they die, you fail. But they talk to you and whatnot and some of the outcomes are hilarious.

Cortez: "Time to split!!!"
Tipper: "Ow! That's not cool man!"

The graphics are better and there's more violence, not to mention blood and gore. Blood gushes out of decapitated zombies and splatters on the wall. Also, the deaths of certain characters are more convincing. R-110 dies with electricity flowing all over his body and no blood comes out when he's shot.

Although I only finished 2.5% of the game, I got some awesome characters.
So far, Deer Haunter is my favourite (It's a gigantic, 7ft tall deer with bloody hooks.)
Just like the classic, everytime you select a character, they animate and talk. I also got some of the characters I've unlocked from previous versions available. That means, if you've unlocked people like Dinosaur, Gingerbread Man etc, that part of your profile will be loaded and everything else will be added to it. However, some characters won't be seen again. I've unlocked all characters from TS2 and I only got about half of them back.

There are vehicles you can use to run across the map and/or kill people. Very fun!

The map maker does'nt have a terrain editor but it does allow you to make an outdoor level with different skies, weather, and tilesets. The computer opponents can be edited in a more advanced fashon. You can change their strength, toggle their spawn sound, leave them without a weapon, and set the maximum spawn to 999.

I still need to try out some more stuff. It's a very awesome game and worth the $50.
