Well, the problem with that is you did go against them, because some people use 800x600. You could say the exact same thing if you made a layout that only works in one browser and looks like shit in all the others. "Well, it works for me. It's not my fault if people want to use another browser." Or "Well, block my layout if it doesn't work for you." That's not what the guidelines are there for. |

Anyway, if you shrink the pic, and make sure the text won't overlap it at all (ie. make it in its own table cell), then it'll be alright. As it is, it's only alright... for me to poop on! |

There are a few simple rules which all users should follow in their layouts:
- No flashy backgrounds which make text difficult to read. This doesn't mean you can't have a nice background, but at least make sure that the area where the text is doesn't make a post hard to read.
- No huge pictures or excessive amounts of GIFs. Huge pictures just make threads longer to load and having too many GIFs can slow down some computers.
- No broken tables. If you're working with tables and feel that you might be messing up, check your post in your user profile. If the profile seems to be messed up, then the layout is as well. Broken tables can wreck havoc with threads.
That's pretty hard to read if you use 800x600 |

That would work, but with most of my posts, you would barely see the top of her head. And since the whole image loads anyway, you might as well see all of it. |

In my opinion, the image of that women (Don't know her) is to big compared to the rest of your average posts. If your average post were of the same size as Waddler-D's, then I would accept that without hestiation.
My advice, try to load that picture as a background or something, so that if you write less, the Postlayout ends after the actual written text. Like Fyxes.
Btw. My Layout is by no means simple. But yours is. |

For the record, I don't think it's that bad a layout for people on broadband. I look at Jessica for like a split second (split second) then look at your post text. Very simple layout. But I can see how people on dialup could get annoyed with file sizes and such. It also is pretty tall for a layout, but since a lot of people do this too, I usually just turn off layouts if I'm in that mood. On the other hand, it could be a LOT worse, i.e. you could have scroll boxes and buttons all over the place and orange text on a yellowish bitmap for a background. |

Either way, as I've said, the picture is the focus on your post layout. But, it's called a post layout for a reason. |

About the picture being the focus of the post, your right, it is. Thats not because of the picture being 400 pixels and the text being 388, thats because she is staring into your soul. |

I use IE and I haven't seen any text on the picture. Then again, I haven't noticed/looked. XD
Just block the layout if your having problems with it. |
