Wireless controllers could work if the system was designed to automatically pause when the battery went dead.
And yes, it does look like a pencil sharpener. |

You guys are idiots. What ISN'T subject to change before it's released in the gaming world? |

It is pretty huge (a lot bigger than the PS2 -- that's for sure) and now that you mention it it does look like a pencil sharpener.
The PS3 may use wireless controllers (explains the lack of ports) but all in all it's too big and I don't like the rounded design. It'd suck if this was partially incorperated into the future design, though |

Look at the small print...
"Design and Specifications subject to change without notice." <-- No shit. This ain't going to be the PS3, at least in my mind. Sure it looks nice, but its jsut a crowd pleaser until the real thing is unveiled at E3. I will be going to E3 this year and possibly meet up with a fellow board member here. (I'm sure you guys wont mind me sabotaging the Phantom section) You know, its sad to see Nintendo take some downfall in this sort of thing, because the PS3 and XBox 2 has been getting some major hype in this category. It would be nice if the PS3 played PSP games, because it is entirely possible. The memory stick thing is also a great addition, ive got a few high capacity ones that I will be able to use.
Down with the pencil sharpener! It belongs on a teacher's desk! |

Am I the only person who thinks this looks like a Pencil sharpener? |

I think that for a concept, the "PS3" looks very nice. Not beautiful or anything like that, but certainly different - and I wouldn't put it past any of the new systems to have wireless controls. |

Gain attention? Um, yeah ok. Anyway, you can all bow to me once the non-ugly non-huge PS3 is actually shown at E3. |

Kario, you've been proven wrong. Your ploy to gain attention has failed miserably.
For something big, this conceptual design hasn't disappointed. |

OK, look at where the disc goes, thats a CD width right? OK, it is a little taller than the width of a CD, and the PS2 is not that tall. |

Ziff, I know you're passionate about this sort of thing, but please try to lay off the name-calling. KTHX.
Okay, so with the knowledge that this is fake (If I choose to believe it), I have to say Ziff's actually right, this mock-up or whatever it is isn't as big as the picture makes it out to be. Probably not much bigger than the first-model PS2, from looking at the picture and the PS2 which presently sits on my floor. |

My VCR is bigger than that. It's not a big appliance. Look at the depth, diminutive. It'll fit into any home entertainment system. |

Its a little wider than the PS2 and twice as tall. |

...Not really. Notice how close things are together?
It is relative in length to the PS2, and slightly taller than that. Nice try anyways. |

Look at where you put the disc in, if that is the width of a disc, this thing is going to be huge. |

Also, there is proof that it is fake, I just cant remember where I saw it. |

The reason why Gamespot thinks it is fake is because "it looks like the projector if it were photoshopped" and that Sony has said that "they want to use the Memory Stick Duo format over UMD for writing". And other crap. In my eyes, it is a fairly high quality fake that has come out of nowhere. That must count for something. I'm hoping that it is true, because the design is absolutely brilliant. |
