I tried that too, the savestate palette isn't compatible, and I think it is still weird looking.

It's possible you just needed to bit shift what you were looking at. The easiest way I've found to rip graphics from a game is to get to the level with the graphics you want, make a savestate, then open the savestate in your tile editor of choice. It's a simple matter from there of switching to the correct graphics format and scrolling to the graphics.

I would if I could. I tried, it took me a while, but I found some GFX similar to a background, but it was all messed up. there were quite a few messed up 8x8 tiles such as some having half of one 8x8on it, and half of another.
