Last I heard, the Palm OS licensing was confirmed to be nothing more than a rumor, with the original article that announced it having been discredited. |

Yeah, but will we be able to boot our own programs on it? Knowing Nintendo, I doubt it. |

Well, Nintendo has licensed Palm OS software, so you may be getting your wish soon. (Well, half your wish at least)
V-Pocket is it probably called, and well. If Palm OS is ARM based or have a port I probably would get it... especially if they would sold it for cheap. |

Computers have microphones, yes, but that doesn't mean using one to emulate DS's will be easy.
Emulators are fun and all, but I want a flash cart dammit. I want to boot up a little open-source OS on my DS and use it like a PDA. How much space can a DS cart have anyway? For that matter has anyone figured out how to read stuff from memory cards with the GBA Media Player? |

Lots of computers have microphones... Although you could just use a button for it which would work for some games if noise itself isn't a factor.
I'll put money on July. |

Personally, I'd like to see how they do microphone emulation. Having actually bought and used a DS, I can't see an emulator for it being easy to use. At all. |

I can see one working for advanced homebrew demos end of this year, but not commercial games. Besides you lose like half the point with DS when you play it on a emulator. I already tried dualis, and it works nice. Althought I yet have to see a "touch screen" demo of some kind. |

...Any bets that there's going to be some working emu out by end-year/start-of-next? |

the first ive seen so far of a released DS emulator, it cant run commercial games, but its cool if you want to try some homebrew DS games http://dualis.1emulation.com/
there is also another one called iDeaS...its not as good as dualis yet though http://utenti.lycos.it/linoma/ideas.php |
