Kyle stood outside of the base and watched the smoke that William's ship left behind clear away.
Kyle: ...Save the universe, eh? ...He should be able to do it.
The discs flew back to Kyle's sides and withdrew their blades. Kyle regarded them quietly.
Kyle: Not bad for a first battle, I think.
Taking one last glance at the abondoned base, he trudged along the path again from where he started.

William: "You would like that, wouldn't you? Well, guess what? I gotta go."
Somehow when he said that the crystal on his neck teleported him instantly to the outside of the base, where he was in the cockpit of the ship, engines blaring.
However, the engines stopped their sound to let William say one thing before he left.
William: "You win this time. Just that right now I need to stop the Windonian Empire from conquering the universe. You know, hero stuff. Sorry to leave you hanging after a somewhat short battle...!"
The engines blared again, and it started hovering. He looked back at Kyle.
William: "We shall fight again..."
The ship blasted off into the sky, leaving a small trail of smoke behind him. He was gone.
------ OOC: Good battle here. I know it was short, but then again, it was really good and highly detailed. I'll battle with you again sometime... |

Kyle stepped forward for his finishing move. He ran at William, with both swords drawn, and as he was about six feet away, let William drop to the ground from the gravity spell. Both of the discs, with their blades spinning faster than the eye could see, carefully moved to each side of William's neck, stopping at a few inches away. Kyle smirked.
Kyle: Give up? Or should we keep this battle going for a bit longer? |

William was now in huge trouble. Not only were the discs in play again, but his own weapon was taken from him and a vehicle was flying towards him. He didn't know what to do... until...
He reached for his boomerang shooters and turned a knob on them that read "High Density Blades." He aimed one at the Black Thorn and another at the vehicle. He waited to fire when the disc swirled around him.
He shot the boomerangs. The first one took the Black Thorn and made it jab in a wall, unable to be freed by any simple force. The second hit the whirling disc and made the disc ram into the vehicle, which then was forced back into a wall. The vehicle exploded, leaving the disc and the boomerang the only unharmed things.
The High Density Blades were indestructable, and while they were not useful in attacking, they made a great defensive move, since their high density and force would push anything no matter how heavy the items were.
However, William forgot the other disc, which rammed into his gut and slammed him in the wall. Still affected by Kyle's gravity spell, he floated in the air, sort of stunned from the disc. Unfortunatly he could not attack for this turn, leaving Kyle a big opportunity for him to strike. |

Kyle: Clever idea.
Kyle remarked this just as William was within a foot of a distance from hitting him. He flashed out his hand, and William again became weightless! He rolled out of the way and returned to his normal stance again, and dropped William back on his feet. As Klye readied for another attack, though, he felt his arm seer with pain; he hadn't noticed it at the time, but William's attack had connected. Already the poison was taking its effect. Kyle staggered clumsily. He had enough brains to figure out that William's sword contained poison, but not knowing what it did, he thought that the best thing to do would be to win this fight as quickly as he could so he could get to tending to his wound.
Kyle: This fight is turning out to be a real challenge. Nice job. Now, I'm not going to hold back any more. Get ready!
Kyle is an excellent multi-tasker, as can be expected with his abilities, and now he was about to show it. One of the disc-blades circled around him super-fast again, chopping up anything that came near him. The other floated a little bit infront of him, ready to act under any situation. With his left hand, he beckoned to a dead soldier lying against a wall, and the his sword flew into Kyle's hand, so now Kyle had two swords. Waving his other hand, the Black Thorn floated out of William's hands, and...began attacking him! Kyle was floating it, of course. With the last bit of his magic he could use at the moment, he also pulled a wrecked vehicle in William's direction.
This all took a bit of time, of course, so he probably didn't get a chance to do much else before William made his move... |

As the barrier ceased, William felt himself become heavier. As he tried to stay up, the disc came hurling at him. He couldn't bear holding himself up much longer and he fell to the ground. The disc went right over his head, but the blade sort of ripped the back of his shirt.
William: "Too... much... weight..."
William was desperate now, since he really couldn't move... so he reached into his pouch again, trying desperatly to pull something good out. He pulled out something that completly neutralized Kyle's move: a Roc's Feather. With this feather, the person holding it becomes a whole lot lighter. William got up on his feet again and held the feather in his left hand.
William: "Very nice move you got there, doubling my weight like that... unfortunatley every move has a counter move. You just have to know how to execute it right."
William then jumped up in the air, this time it wasn't a mere simple jump. The Roc's Feather took hold, and he soared to the ceiling with a bounding leap. He pulled out his sword and pointed it at Kyle who was directly below him. He then took the feather and put it back in the bag, returning it to the unknown dimension which all items go to when not in use.
Kyle's spell was still in effect though. William, being doubled his weight now, came crashing towards Kyle at an alarming rate. Nothing was going to stop William from his decent. He was falling too fast for anything physical to stop him. The thorned edges of the sword started leaking a fierce poison. This poison, once absorbed in the body, would deteriorate the foe's speed and defence, but there was a drawback: these downgrades would have to be counter-acted, meaning the foe's attack power would increase drastically. William, however, did not know about the poison, since he just got the sword a few days ago. Many mysteries lie beyond what he knows right now...
...but right now, he has to continue battling. The story can come later. |

Kyle's plan was to cast his spell, and while William was weak, attack. His hand stopped shaking, he aimed his fist at William, and the spell was cast.
The magic was not in the form of a projectile, and so it could not be amplified by the barrier. Still, it was a guranteed-hit move, like the zero gravity curse. In fact, it was just the opposite; when it hit William, his weight was doubled, slowing him down, and making every move take much more effort. Of course, since his weight is increased, any downward-moving melee attack would do more damage, but it would be up to him to notice this.
Then Kyle had to deal with William's spell. It came through the barrier and right at Kyle with excellent precision, so Kyle had no time to move. His free disc flew directly in the path of the projectile to block the spell, but because of the heightened power, the disc was knocked into Kyle, who fell to the ground with it, and still absorbed any ill effects of the spell. It was a good thing for Kyle that he was struck with the flat side of the disc, and not the blade....
The second disc flew toward William again.

Kicked down on the ground and about to be attacked, William decided to reply to Kyle's question.
William: "Uhh.. I was pulled in here by a gravity beam set up by the Windonian Empire." William did a backflip from a sitting position, dodging both the saws and the sword by very little. "I came here to stop the empire, but they were all dead... this command, at least."
William held his right hand in the air and his left hand towards the ground. A light shone from his hands and he moved his hands clockwise (counter-clockwise if you are looking at him directly). A transparent circle was formed and it glistened in the light. William then took his hands and charged up an attack to go through the so-called barrier and hit Kyle, but this charge time would probably give Kyle the chance to use his spell he was charging up.
The barrier, however, was a two-way attack charger, meaning any attack that goes through the sheild before William gets the chance to use an attack would be powered up by 200%. Any attack was devastating then as long as it was a magic attack.
William did not know that the barrier also charged up his rival's attacks... |

"So it starts," Kyle thought. He drew out his katana and blocked William's first blow, then kicked him back, allowing him to take his turn to swing at William. Judging the situation a to be a bit more serious at this point, the discs sprang into their saw form and intermittently flew at William. Could he continue to avoid harm from three different points at once? As Kyle continued to fight William, his left hand started shaking, as he was charging up a spell... Kyle was enjoying the fight so far, so he decided to make some conversation.
Kyle: So how are you connected to this place? Are you, like, the boss here? |

William was hanging in the air wondering why Kyle didn't go and attack him already. William had a decent amount of time to think about a good strategy against him, but unfortunatly he had no clue about any of his skills that would be useful, this being his first true battle and all.
He decided to reach in his bag again, not knowing what he would pull out. He took his hand out and pulled out a staff. He had no clue what it did, so as the discs headed towards him, he put the staff in front of their path.
A barrier formed around William and the discs pounded and pounded at the barrier, not doing any damage whatsoever. William felt himself falling to the ground, the barrier stopping all interference with Kyle's gravity control. He was confused.
The discs power dropped and the barrier ceased when the staff dissolved to dust. William was slightly hit by the discs, but not any major damage. William then pulled out his Black Thorn and rushed at Kyle, hoping that he will abandon the disc routine and switch to a hand-to-hand combat strategy. |

Kyle saw the bomb on his disc just before William pressed the detonator. He didn't have time to move the disc away, but he had one good defensive trick up his sleeve...
BOOM!!! As the smoke cleared, William saw that Kyle was perfectly fine. He had created a spherical force feild around himself to block the explosion, and it worked. Kyle then made the force field disappear, feeling very drained; though he hadn't received any physical damage, he had been almost entirely drained of power. Kyle reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a blue potion, which he drank in one gulp. Afterwards, he felt his magic power returning to him. He rolled his head around his shoulder and brought back his discs again, which were both fine as well.
Kyle (to himself): Dang. I swear, if I see one more of those bombs, I'm drawing blades here.
Kyle (outloud): That was really clever, you know. If it wasn't for the mana potions I carry with me, I really wouldn't have liked that.
Kyle's eyes lit up as he got an idea. He shot his fingers out at William, who then began floating in the air helplessly!
Kyle: So, what do you think of zero gravity? Know that you won't be able to fly around like I do...
With that, Kyle flew up and over William, and landed at his other side.
Kyle: ...In fact, moving anywhere will be difficult. Can you dodge this?
Kyle floated both of his discs about five feet above William, who was still slowly spinning in mid-air. He was letting them charge power before bringing them down right on him.
Kyle: You know, it was a good idea not to try to break these discs. I don't think any force on earth could break them, except themselves. Contained inside each of them is a gravital force as strong as a collapsed sun. What this means is that nothing will be strong enough to break them apart. And if, somehow, something did manage to, then the disc would implode on itself, releasing the black hole, and everything in the immediate area would be sucked in. So you would have been wasting your time. Anyways, enough suspense.
Kyle brought down the discs at William with extreme power. Of course, William had time to prepare a defense during Kyle's monologue... |

William began getting rammed repeatedly by the discs spinning back and forth. He kept getting hit until he pulled out of his bag a bomb and detonator. With the bomb he strapped it at the right time to one of the discs spinning around Kyle. William let his legs relax and was knocked into the wall a second time, this time with a few scratches on his arm and face. No blood, however.
William quickly got up and said a witty comment.
William: "My goal isn't of destroying the disc, but hurting you is."
William pressed the trigger on the detonator. The bomb exploded. He didn't know whether or not the discs were indestructable, but he knew that they always hovered near him so the blast radius of the bomb would hurt him in some way unless he quickly moved the disc away from him in less than a second. |

Kyle sighed exasperatedly, as he has just helped his foe to retrieve his item after a good disarming. Also, he was frustrated that his legs were now frozen to the ground. He swiped his arm, and the discs popped their spinning blades out again, and carefully cut the ice around his legs, setting Kyle free again. Without saying anything after that, he flew forward to William, with the discs (again blade-less) circling around himself at super fast speeds. He intended to ram into William and get him caught in a frenzy of metallic blows. Despite this effortless move, Kyle seemed to be preparing for something big... |

OOC: I felt that the scenery was being neglected in most battles. Hey, it made a cool attack though! ---------------
William's bag, up on a catwalk above him, would be very hard to get to normally running there, and Kyle was going to make sure that he wouldn't easily get it. Right now, William had to worry about dodging the rubble being thrown at him. That, though, gave him an idea...
As the first piece of rubble flung towards him, he jumped, put his feet on it, and pushed away, hopping from rubble to rubble until one was just high enough for him to make his move. When one finally did, he jumped on it and made a huge jump up to the catwalk... there was one problem he knew from the start: he wouldn't jump high enough.
He took out his sword and focused all of his energy to the tip of it. A huge rush of energy met and a beam came directly from the sword, an ice elemental beam. It shot directly towards Kyle's feet, hoping to freeze him in the ground. The beam's force was just powerful enough to get William beside the catwalk and grab his bag with his free hand.
When the beam stopped, he started heading to the ground. He put the bag on the back of his shirt and secured it with Instaweld, a made up product that welds something to something else like magic. He would later remove the weld, but when dealing with a master of gravity, he could take no chances anymore. |

OOC: Ooh, nice use of scenery! ---------
Kyle: Shizah!
As the catwalk plummeted toward Kyle, he focused all of his energy into slowing its fall. He stopped controlling his discs to save mana, and so they fell to the floor lifelessly. The rubble still fell pretty fast; Kyle seemed to be having trouble lifting something so large. In the end, he failed to stop it entirely, but still he managed to slow it down enough so that when it struck him, it didn't do too much damage.
Kyle roughly emerged from the pile of rubble around him and came back to his fight stance. The discs returned to his side, a little less smoothly than they would have before.
Kyle: That is one nasty bag you have there. Heh, I'll releive you of it.
With a flick his hand, Kyle made William's bag fly out of his grasp and up high onto a catwalk. Then, he levitated the peices of rubble that surrounded him, and made them throw themselves at William. His aim was kind of poor, though, as Kyle was busy nursing his right arm, still recovering from the previous attack. The discs again floated between the two of them, to try to block any projectile moves. |

William got hit a few times, the discs slamming into him. The last hit knocked him back into a wall, causing him to sit on the ground for a second. He quickly pulled his legs back and pushed them forward, getting himself back on his feet.
William: "Alrighty then, if you want to go at a different pace, I'll do that!"
William reached into his bag on his back and pulled out a chain of bombs. All the bombs were ticking down. This would cause major damage if all the bombs were encircled around the target.
William: "Hope you like these because they aren't the threat!"
He spun around once to get some throw in and threw the bombs towards Kyle. However, he wasn't aiming for him...
The bombs circled around three poles of a catwalk above Kyle. The timer reached zero, and the bombs exploded. The structural support for the catwalks were gone, so the catwalks started falling apart, all of the pieces falling right at Kyle. |

The two boomerangs flew right at Kyle. One of them bounced off of a spinning blade, but the other got past the discs. Kyle quickly side-stepped out of the way...but failed to dodge the boomerang a second time. The boomerang came back and hit him right behind the head.
Kyle: D'ow!
The concussive strike made Kyle lose his balance, and he fell forward. Before hitting the ground, though, he did a sort of barrel roll in mid air, flipped over so his feet were facing the ground, and...continued to float in the air.
Kyle: Ugh...Yes, that's right. I can levitate myself, too. Now, if you don't mind, I'ma pick up the pace a little bit. Don't expect ease at this point!
Since Kyle didn't want to kill William, he made his discs draw back their blades. Still, being struck by one would hurt considerably. Kyle flew straight at William, but off to the side a little. He floated his discs at his right side, right in William's path. As he reached William, he spinned away from him, but his discs continued to take turns flinging themselves at him. |

The force hit William and knocked him on his back and made him slide across the floor. He got up and prepared for the battle in store.
William: "Alright, since you just want a fight, a fight is what you will get!"
William threw the sword up in the air right above him. He then quickly pulled out of both his sides his boomerang guns, shot them directly towards Kyle, holstered them, and caught the sword before it fell to the ground.
If the boomerangs hit, it would cause minimal damage. However, if they didn't hit, well... William gave a quick hint as what would happen.
William: "Just a word of caution: boomerangs always return to do their deed." |

Kyle: Woah!
The disc to Kyle's left immediately floated out in front of the beam to block the attack. Most of it was deflected, but the disc took a minor burn. It then returned to his side. Kyle swiftly drew his arms out sideways, and out of each of the discs sprouted four spinning blades! With the blades drawn, each disc reached a diameter of four feet instead of two.
Kyle: Hey, neat move. Let me show you one of mine.
Kyle pointed his palm at Williams head, and shot a slightly quick-moving invisible ball of force at him. If it were to connect, it would deal minimal damage, but it would be powerful enough to flip him backwards and off of his feet. After this show-offy move, Kyle began walking casually in a wide circle around William, with his blade-dics hovering between the two of them.
Kyle (nonchalantly): So there's an evil empire here? I was suspicious of that. You should know that I'm not sided with any evil, but I'll still go with this battle. I could use the experience. |

OOC: On another note, I might not post every hour or so because I have dial-up, but I will post at least once per day.
William was a little startled, seeing levitating discs surrounding this new figure. He didn't know whether or not this guy was good or not. He had to test him.
"Did you kill all of the soldiers here? You must be pretty good to do that. However... I will have to see if you are powerful enough to defeat them all. I don't care whether or not you are against this evil empire or not, but I want to see if you can beat me."
William was kind of sounding like he knew what he was doing, when in reality this was his second true battle (the first being at his home against an entire group of Windonian soldiers). He decided to go with his gut and assume that this stranger was for the good of the universe and tried a simple technique: focusing some energy to his sword and then swinging it.
The energy in the sword shot out of the sword in a beam of immense power and it headed straight for Kyle. Whether or not this was powerful, William was proud of his first technique and was going to name that move for later uses.
As the beam headed towards Kyle, William started thinking of a name, unaware of any defence moves Kyle had in store for him.
"Hmmm... maybe Sword Beam... nah, too cliche. Or how about..." |
