Count me in. I've been wanting to play this online for some time now, but it's so hard to find ongoing games...

I'm usually on late at night, starting around 11 (US Eastern time), so I'd prob'ly show up late in the game, but oh well... AIM nick is ystam4.

To answer Zerodius's graphics-editing Q: There's a list/table/thingy somewhere in one of the scripts (I forget exactly where) that defines sizes (and also origin points, I think) for all the graphics--if you change the actual images, you'll need to change their coordinates as well.

Couple o' gameplay notes:
- You can trap items and other players (!) in bubbles, if you hit them from the correct distance (you should cover the item just as the bubble is stopping its horizontal movement). Trapped items apply to all players when hit, except those players trapped in bubbles themselves...
- It's the black, oily-looking potion that starts the retro bonus round. There's Pac-Man, Tetris, Breakout, Lemmings, and a Space Invaders/Galaga mix.

OK... my question was totally and completely ignored.

Can somehow help me, give me an explanation, or simply tell me where to get help?

I played the game...

I'm unable to join a server or something... in fact, I don't understand how the multiplayer game works but well... right now, I'm more interested in the changes you can make to the game.

It is possible to edit the levels and even change the sounds and music... but for some reason, the game crash when I change the GFX.

I took the pictures of the first player (dragon 0), made a copy of it in bitmap format, edited the bitmap, and then saved it as a PPM (the format used for the game's GFX).

I loaded the game with the new graphics... and it crashed. An error that spoke about the server having problems with "Cell 0", "Cell 1", and other things like that.

As such... I wonder what went wrong and how it could be corrected.

As for the game itself... really fun. There's a definite lack of bosses however. Where's Hyper Drunk, the Giga Invader, the Mecha Skull Robot, and all the other wacky bosses?

Yes, the final level is quite interesting in it's current form... but I would prefer a boss battle to a onslaught of wacky effects (ranging from enemies appearing out of nowhere and being afflicted with all the bad bonuses at the same time).

Count me out for Wednesday, I'm going to have a paper to write that night. :\

Any day after that's fine though. That middle portion of this week is my last real hard stretch until exams.

I would gladly play on wedsnday's night, when I get home. Maybe we should try to have some big match by then.

Yeah, we should plan things around. I never bothered to join that server since I was kinda busy and was expecting a empty server. :/

I'll check it out soon just to see if anyone's wasting time there.

We should commit to a time for pure madness though. :\

Started a permanent server... cause I'll be gone most of the day. See first post for the server:port

It's choking on the file path. Move it out of the desktop or your "My documents" folder and into any folder with no spaces in the name.

How do you set the keys? I tried pressing them in the order it lists in the intro, but I ended up with multiple keys set to the same thing.

I think I go and start a server later today...

...althought I would prefer if FreeDOS did. I don't know why, but his server was pretty smooth. Maybe the server works better on Linux or something... I hadn't tested to play on a Windows server.

Yeah, but that's Xk's connection. XD It's fine with two players but after that... :\

'Twas fun to mess around with it but I think you really need 3-4 players to make it interesting. Everyone starting at Level 1 doesn't hurt either.
Skif, that may have just been you

And I can't help starting it at Level 1... if you don't join... =/

You can start the server if you have the bandwidth to spare, you know.

24/7 server... eh... let's see how long this lasts.
