I saw it the day it came out and I thought it sucked! I loved the Ring 1 cause it left you with a feeling of suspense the entire time. This one just gives off a few cheap scares.
I also hated how they didnt reveal anything new about Samora or whatever that freakin girls name was. The had a perfect chance to reveal her origins but instead they just ignored it basically.
Oh and the CG animals were lame. |

I was gonna watch the american remake but I heard it sucked compared to the original so I never watched it.
They are really two different types of movies. The general opinion seems to be that you will like whichever movie you see first, better.
I heard it isn't even based on Ringu 2, that true?
The Ring had elements of both Ringu movies in it. Therefore The Ring 2 could not really be a direct remake of Ringu 2.

I'd have to disagree...i thought the Ring 2 was pretty sweet actually, sure you could tell that the CG animals were CG, but exactly how the heck are you gonna train deer to do that kind of stuff ??? Huh??? and yea there was a difference,they went more in depth about the girls family and how that came to be, I thought it was better than the first one, but there wasw a funny thing in there....Aden (the boy) was wearing lipstick!!! Freeeky, Overall I say the ring two was an interesting movie, definately better than the first. besides they kill a kid from the disney channel!!!! that rocks!! |

Meh, it was alright, but it wasn't nearly what the first one was. All it left me was wanting to see Ringu 1 + 2, that's about it. |

I saw it in the cinema yesterday. I didn't like it too much, and it wasn't scary at all (although I've seen worse). Besides, wasn't there such a "death video tape" in the first movie too? I can't remember if I've seen the first movie or not, but for some odd reason, it's just like I've seen this movie before. I remember that video tape from somewhere...  |

The movie suffers from "Standard Sequel Syndrome." I never even liked the first one to begin with, and never had plans to watch the second. I guess I win in that regard. Go watch Hostage instead.  |

Argh. I just read some of the plot summaries on IMDB, and it does sound crappy indeed. I loved the first movie because it started with unexplained freaky shit, revealed more about said shit as it progressed so you eventually got a good idea of what was going on, and still left enough blanks for you to fill in on your own. (Incidentally, this is why I loved Silent Hill 2, but that's another discussion topic entirely. Let's just say that I think horror is best when there's well-told mystery involved and the true nature of the horror is never fully explained so you can interpret it for yourself.) This one presumes to tell us more about Samara, but the mystery there just seems like extraneous information tacked onto a boring plot. Thanks for taking one for the team to warn us about the sucktacularity of this movie.  |

Shoot yourself in the face before seeing this movie. I fucking hated it. The following spoilers won't ruin plot...

First off. Remember the Exorcist? Yeah. This is like the Exorcist two or something. Really, really shitty. Secondly, they reused all of...I MEAN ALL...of the scare tactics from the first one. That's right. The Ring Two is really just the Ring. Except with a shittier storyline. There was one good scene in the movie. And it sucked. Because the CG animals were so obvious (you'll know when you see it). But I'll tell you two great things about the movie. Nipple one and nipple two. |
