Ill start making levels tonight ill look for the offset that I can change to disable to wierd music. I only released a demo to showcase a few things

But about those that you did change:

I like both of the overworld. I think they are very nicely done.
Iggy's road again needs work.
The new style ground looks just fine; it's simple and subtle. Good for a normal tileset.
Mario's house is very, very cool.
When you beat a level, some other music starts. Was this intentional? If it is, I might advise against it.
Other than that, I'd like to see some levels...

Overall, you done good.

Yea. This hack was more about showing some of the features then being all nice and pretty. It'll get better.

I've finally gotten around to playing this demo.

The first world looks just great, but the waterfall doesn't really make sense... the waterfall's water is supposed to move fast, not at the same speed as the river leading down. Maybe remove that animation tiles from the waterfall?

And from Quaint Valley 1 to 2, Mario doesn't even swim in the water. He just... hovers over it. o.o Better fix that.

The path leading to the Mushroom Kingdom is kind of long and boring, so you may want to shorten it a bit or add a level on the way there.

The Mushroom Kingdom itself is alright, but the land itself is too squarish. Make it look more causal by giving it more curves and stuff. Same goes with the land to the south of the Mushroom Kingdom.

A lot has been said about the levels by the previous posts, so I'll leave it at that. They basically just need more work.

Overall, it's a nice hack, but not overly impressive like some others. Keep working on it.

Yea. The reason the levels are poor is that I really wanted to showcase some of the ASM I put in and the house idea.

When I get home from school I will download irfanveiw and work on the levels. because of the way i do my levels, First I make the level, then I make the enemies, and then finally I go over it and touch everything up. Problem is, I didn't have time to finish the third step for Iggy road and never even started on the other world-1 levels. Has anyone seen world 2?

I played the hack now. I liked Mario's house (I see nothing wrong with using the speech bubble) and the overworld. However, level design wasn't all that great. You need to put more objects in the level to the left of the start.

I know this really isn't about your hack...but this program may prove useful for uploading your pictures as PNG's or pretty much any other forfat with the right plugins:

IrfanView

Its great, comes in MANY languages, and has support for virtually every media, image, or video type. If it doesn't have one you need, im sure a third party has made one....


And your screens are okay. I like the house idea...reminds me of YI! Good job. That first screen looks really fimilar tho..

OK. The house itself is actually interactive, too. I changed the ground for a different pace, and thought it was good, myself. IGGY ROAD is also going to be very crappy, because all there is there right now is a few enemies and straight gameplay. I'll fix that up tonight. Anyways the reason I have to use BMPs is because my computer is so slow I have to use Print Scrn, then save it with paint, otherwise it turns out all funky. World Two is just OW-only to give a preveiw of the game, and the only playable world is world 1. The speech is actually very easy to change, so I can change that if I need to. If I can get the "wall off" cutsom block to work glitch-free, I will include more places like that. Has anyone tried to get 100 coins yet? I'd like to see them try.

And I'll move the smoke. I just didn't know where else to put it at the time

The ground in the first screenshot is rather poor... You probably should have just left it as it is. Mario's house looks excellent. The speech bubble is nice in theory, but I tried them in Super Mario Oddysey and they're kinda stupid to use. But I suppose it would be a pain to change it...

The waterfall near the top of the overworld is nice, but the one below is rather ugly. I think you could make it look nicer if you got rid of the animated waves in favor of a solid blue tile. And that smoke coming from the castle is just weird. I'll probably play this hack and come up with a real review sometime...

Hey!

I put together a demo of the next game Nad-Gob and I are working on, even though we haven't finished our current one. we were experimenting and learning and came up with the planned sequel to Chronicles 1. Anyways here are the screenshots:

Also, anyone keen will notice that I disabled giving a 1UP at 100 coins and instead set the max. # of coins to 99 with custom ASM in preparation for an "Item Shoppe" I am working on.. The levels are a little crappy, but this hack is in a maximally early stage of development.

What do you think? I'm open to everything. Nad-Gob and I will be working on this one together.
