True but I wonder how many people will actually get the point and how many will just go "oh well that can't really happen.... I wonder when dinner will be ready...."

It's not mean to be realistic. It's made to make you think, well what if my children were walking around in landmine-laden fields? Bad, right?

If you think violent imagery is going to affect anyone enough to make them give up their hard earned money to donate to whatever cause, think again. This commercial is no more violent then 80% of the stuff on TV during prime time.

Besides, it's rather unrealistic. There ARENT any landmines in Canada so why ask that stupid rhetorical question at the end of the commercial?

That is really a great commercial. If people say things like "It's too violent" or something like that and it shouldn't be aired, then they truly are stupid. Unfortunately, we live in an age where people have to be shown such images to be spurred into action. (If they even bother to do anything) I really hope it gets the message across.

Viral videos are great. I saw a couple good ones about domestic violence recently, I'll try to dig them up again..

No, landmines can't be "everywhere". It is simply a waste of ressources to place mines in an irrelevant area. Most mines will be found in open fields and possibly narrow passage was through hills or mountains. They didn't simply throw a mine on the ground, activated it, and throw dirt over it. They were placed in strategical areas to prevent an on-coming force. It was not a video game.

Considering the labour put into creating an outdoor soccer field, nothing like this would ever happen. But that's not the point of the commercial.

I had mixed feelings about this. There are active landmines out there, garanteed, but besides sending money, there's isn't we, as citizens, could do. I doubt any of us could accuratly locate mines and decipher them, let alone accomplish that event successfully. Ergo they need our financial help to rid the fields of these remaining traps. They need our money, why couldn't they just go out and say it.

I don't think people would feel guilt(perhaps some veterans), you were probobly looking for 'pity'.

Well, it's propeganda... and a quite good one too. People don't realise the danger with landmines and how it feels if their own children would stomp one of thoose...

I think it will make people feel guilt, and probably support thoose anti-mine programs. Althought I do already support thoose, after seeing how they can massacre a foot....

The SomerZ, download the movie first. That works much better...

I get 10% into it, and then it freezes and says Buffering without actually buffering... Man, I hate WMV...

This brilliant commercial was aired on Canada's CBC and is probably one of the best commercials for a cause I've seen lately.

Wow
