... so that's what I did. I've done that multiple times, couldn't figure out what happened. Maybe I should make the "Selection" color a bit more clear next time, now that I know what the problem was.

That 10x zoom trick should be very helpful for those rare occasions when I'm making 16x16/16x32 sprites...

Right clicking with the easer will only replace the foreground color with the backround color. Leaving all other colors alone.
You didn't know that?

...

Well I posted it, so how could I not know that?

I knew about the first two, but I always wondered why sometimes it got really close when zoomed in. The 10x zoom thing should be useful for me when I'm trying to concentrate on super-slight color differences...

Holding SHIFT while using the line tool restricts it to 45 degree angle. Works with Polygon Tool and Pencil tool as well.

Holding SHIFT while using the Rectangle or Circle tool keeps the aspect ration 1:1.

Here's a few fun things to do with everyone's favorite quick image editor:

Duplicate - Tired of having to copy and paste paste paste to get a few copies of the same thing? Select something and hold CTRL and move it! A new copy of that has been created just for you! (NOTE - this is in the help file, but no one ever reads those things)

Trails - Make trails of an object by selecting something and holding SHIFT. This tends to fuck undo-releated things, so don't cancel out of it with a right click or undo it-- it tends to undo more than one thing at a time.

Error Brush - This one's just stupid yet kind of amusing. On the select-brush area (click the paintbrush) click right of the smallest top brush -- the selection will disappear if you've done it right. Clicking anywhere in the canvas will cause an "Out of Memory" error!

Invisible Ink - More stupid than fun, but try clicking to the right of the smallest square brush -- it'll draw absoloutely nothing... or so you think! Zooming in or out or doing anything else will make everything you've drawn with this reappear!

Hidden 10x Zoom Level - We all complain about small zoom levels in this program, so here's a way to help that problem! Zoom in anywhere and click 8x Zoom (though you don't have to, it just helps a lot)... try clicking in the one-pixel-tall bar between the 8x area and the bottom of the box! If you make it, you'll get an extra boost up to 10x. Be careful, as on slower, older computers minor display problems (random bars that disappear, et) happen sometimes.

That was just a few interesting tidbits I learned about Paint, some of which are a lot older than others and the 10x one I learned last night
