Bleh. I'll just install FF then.

A ZSnes problem arises... I managed to fix that controller lag problem (just don't use the profiler program), but now the entire program is lagging. Sometimes the entire game runs slow, other times the music is slow and stutters while the actual game is too fast. I tried setting it to high priority but it just sets itself back to normal. (There really oughta be an option to disallow certain programs from changing their priority. ) If I use the 'High Priority Mode' option, it sets itself to the lowest priority instead!

as for default action for bin files, just make it be associated with hex workshop anyways--don't rely on the context menu insertion.

Hmm, that works.

No way that's not a pain in the ass. You don't even know what happened in the first place, you just know that it's something in your profile, which is like trying to perform medical surgery on yourself with the complete journal content being "it hurts".

hmm...maybe you just need to "reset' the option--meaning remove it from the context menu, verify it is gone, and then reactivate it. The general portion of the preferences menu is where you can control it.

Neo: That's what I assume the problem is (with Textpad anyway), but the programs have added the options themselves, and they don't appear in the associations menu.

I've managed to get around this by typing the text elsewhere, copying it, right-clicking and pasting it, but it's quite an annoying procedure. Also sometimes when a page is done loading, it goes back to the last one as if I'd hit Back, except the Forward button remains grayed out.
You have a borked profile folder, one way or another. When you install Firefox, it can import the necessary data you need from Mozilla's own profile folder. Do it. Seriously. It'll even be worth reinstalling the extensions.

for #2, are you adding the option via the file association manager? if so, try adding a %1 after the executable.

This is really two different problems, but no sense making two threads for them.

1) On certain dialogs in Mozilla and Firebird, such as Bookmark This Tab Group and the e-mail password prompt, the text boxes won't respond to left clicks. I can right-click to bring up the menu but I can't click them or type in them. I've managed to get around this by typing the text elsewhere, copying it, right-clicking and pasting it, but it's quite an annoying procedure. Also sometimes when a page is done loading, it goes back to the last one as if I'd hit Back, except the Forward button remains grayed out.

2) I had Textpad add an 'Open With Textpad' option to various files' menus, but when I click it, it only opens Textpad and doesn't actually open the file. I suspect the problem is just a bad path, but I can't edit it because it doesn't appear in the file associations. Similarly, Hex Workshop adds a Hex Edit option to all files, and I want this to be the default action for .bin files, but it's not there either.
