It could be fun.

Sweet, I was bored as heck and needed something to do .

I'm going to advertise it as teams of three people. A minimum of 8 teams, I'll say. Any other important details can be edited into the thread later.

Whee... Looks like teams it is...

Hm... Since Silvershield looks adamant about it, I think he throw things together

I'm eager to get this started, and I volunteer to organize the tournament and get the ball rolling (if such a service is needed). What say you all?

I can throw together a quick thread for signups, and I'd be more than happy to keep track of the names and the teams. Unteamed individuals could be assigned partners quite easily.

So, should I (or somebody else - it makes no difference) take some action?

I like team battles. But, anything as long as this gets started soon.

Well, I would still lean towards traditional one one one battles, but just as long as we get an official tourney going, just about anything is fine with me.

Keep in mind, the only issues I have with the team format (assuming you still want it, Kirbynite, is that:

1) We still need judges with a bit of sim-battle experience.

3) It doesn't really show off the individual storytelling aspect, in my opinion, as well as a one on one fight does. But that's just me.

Having said that, I think the lawcards idea would make things so much simpler.

1. I wouldn't think so. Any trusted individual could easily be a judge. Last time, I think there were two of whom weren't avid Sim Battlers.

3. Pfft, I see no reason why people should not be able to show off their spiffed storytelling skills. Plus, it adds the all powerful, teamwork aspect of fighting. It might make things a bit harder, but I think that was the point.

Sure, the only problem with the King of Fighters (?) idea is the number problem, but if we manage to real in most of the active SBers, there should be enough participants. Also, it might be hard to team everybody up in groups of three, since there might be some people left out (groups of two or one. I think there should at least be 8 teams, which would mean a total of 24 participants.

Holy Cucco, I thought I already stickied this

*sighs* I guess it seems that I have to be a judge ;; Oh well... I guess its for the best that I don't fight

As for the lawcards.. I don't know.. It doesn't seem like something it'd.. do something.

I'd love to team up with Dani and Anya.. unfortunately Dani's kinda... here and there... in months. ;

Well, what do you guys want? I'll start making things happening if we all settle on an idea.

If this really is important, maybe someone might want to consider stickying it...

Innocent bump to keep this oh-so-important thread near the top.

(The FAQ says nothing about bumping threads that aren't "old or outdated," but reprimand me if I've broken some rule .)

Oh really?

@ Jarukoth's post before that one:

1) Well, a pro sim-battler should do that. Not an amatuer. But, at a last resort, then we'd have to.

2) The teams would have to be limited to 3 or something. I don't really want to fight alone in a tourney... Anyways, imagine how many matches there'd be with 1 on 1!

3) Never thought of that... There wouldn't be any real good plots. But, I guess that someone from a team could attempt to make a story to go along with the match.

Now, if Kirbynite, Anya, and Dani teamed up against us...that would be a show!

I haven't seen Sim-Battle action in quite some time. I'd love to be involved in some way, either as a fighter or, if needed, a judge. I'm leaning towards a team tournament myself, but only if an appropriate number of participants is available.

Keep in mind, the only issues I have with the team format (assuming you still want it, Kirbynite, is that:

1) We still need judges with a bit of sim-battle experience.

2) Depending on how large the teams are, we need to make sure we have enough for brackets

3) It doesn't really show off the individual storytelling aspect, in my opinion, as well as a one on one fight does. But that's just me.

Having said that, I think the lawcards idea would make things so much simpler.

I like the rule thing, but as long as there isn't any attack or magic (all) lawcards, I'd be happy.

I was kinda hoping that some of the veterans would've piped up... No need to worry about the bump, Ulty

I'm aware of the vast amount of participants.. but I had the feeling that the Sim-Battle Arena had plenty of fighters to go around... Also, I thought that if there were teams, then it would ensure activity. If one teammate forgets to post, then the others would remind the inactive teammate.

As for any other themes... I can't think of any.. I do know it should be something different than what we had before.

Actually, that's an excellent idea! There would be one rule with the starting matches, and then as rounds progress, the rules could become more numerous, or tougher.

I like it.

Sorry for the bump... but, the activity of this thread highlights a bit of a problem with a KOF-style tourney... cool, yes, but you'd need a LOT of participants for a worthwhile number of teams... something we don't have

...any other themes you people can think of?
