Hi,
Thank you for writing back to us.
I gather from your e-mail that after downloading the audio drivers you receive multiple errors.
I have checked the specification of your computer and I apologize for providing you the incorrect drivers.
I have checked again and found the exact sound drivers.
I suggest that before downloading the drivers, please uninstall the sound old drivers and then install new drivers.
Please visit the following web site for downloading the drivers.

The card's not borked (it works in Windows ME, which is installed on D:\... I'm sure you know why I don't use it ) and I'm going to go look at HP's site right now...
Edit: Meet my computer'
After searching the whole site the best they can come up with is a picture of the device manager and how to find the driver you need to reinstall. They have NO LISTING OF WHAT IS IN THE F*CKING COMPUTER OR WHERE TO GET IT.
[stabs HP in the side repeatedly]
Edit 3: After several emails to HP and a few fixes that didn't quite work:
Dear Qwerty,
Thank you for writing back to us.
I gather from your e-mail that you do not have the recovery disks for performing the system recovery. I also understand that you would like to know that whether Crystal WDM Audio Codec drivers will resolve the issue or not.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused.
I would like to mention that the Crystal WDM Audio Codec drivers definitely compatible with your computer and you can install them to resolve the issue.
I am also providing you with the sound drivers to resolve the issue.
Please visit the following web site for downloading the drivers: [web site here]
I really fucking hope these work. |

Ah ha ha ha ha... Sorry, but they're really not. Anyway, you use Win98 right? They might not be compatible (even if they claim to be)... Or the card might just be borked. |

If HP is half as decent, they should provide seperate drivers--otherwise, you have a reason of why not to buy a computer from HP |

It was made by HP.
So... yeah Mabye I should try there, but chances are they'll tell me to use the recovery disk (which I won't use) |

who is the manufacture that made the computer? My Dell had a sound card that used those drivers so, chances are you will need to go to the manufacture to get it. |

I have a "Crystal WDM Audio Codec" sitting in my list'o'shit that has no drivers (or bad ones)
It says that MMDEVLDR.VXD and NTKERN.VXD can't load the device driver.
I've tried hundereds of things and searched google many times but can't find what will make this work (I've even replaced MMDEVLDR.VXD and added NTKERN.VXD to /SYSTEM and /SYSTEM/VMM32 (or whatever it is).
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas |
