I have yet to believe how this is going to be pulled off on a console.

Eh, it's gonna be delayed. Just count on it. But then again, it's taken so long to get so far.... you never know. o.O

I still say that the perfect RPG would have you walking around and you would actually trip over things. Havent seen one yet. This one looks incredible though...

Wow. These screenshots. I could release hormones to them. Damn it looks nice. It's not xbox exclusive is it? (I haven't bothered to read the reviews) If it is, I'm going to kill someone.
I heard about Project Ego a looooooong time ago in a PCGamer, but I never looked into it.

Black and White was way overrated.

It had a good idea behind it, but it wasn't followed through.

Just look at the creature. You would smack it, but you would have no idea what you were telling it to do.

I know what you mean kinda. There was things I liked with Black and white. But the flaws was many...

Like often the creature hurts villagers without knowing it, and it dosnen't help with an smack.

Yeah, I really hope they fix all this in BW2.

Ooooh. This game looks SOOOO cool. Another reason I want an X-Box.

Seriously, if they put an online mode, so we can pit created chars against others online, I'm getting an X-Box tomorrow.

Ah, project ego. I've been waiting AGES for this, and I'll have to wait some longer I guess. But it looks really good and I like how your character can learn all kind of things and how you can do whatever you wish. Also that scars will stay and such. Gives it a more realistic feel.

With all the above said, does anyone get the feeling that this game is just too good to be true?

Well Peter Molyneux is known for talking about how great and revolutionary the game he is working is...

He did that alot with Black and white. Which was actully quite intresting game... (but personally I found it slow on some parts ).

I think it's been delayed again until September.

I'm pretty scared, just like with HL2, that there is the minute chance that it could suck big time, Dikatana style.

But, with all the time and effort put into it, it has to be something totally minute and obscure that nobody saw ever, except that one guy, who killed the peasant, THEN slayed the dragon.

If you didn't follow that, it'd have to be something only 1/100000 people saw if there was to be a bug.

Peter Who'samabobit said the goal of Fable was to be the best RPG ever.

Lofty goals, but it's looking pretty close to that. Well, hell, it's not even out yet, so how could I form a conclusion.

This game is finally going to put RPGs on the console into the next generation. I think this is going to be the successor to KOTOR as the best RPG of the beginning of the Millenium.

I was reading some more stuff on it, and look at this.

Project Ego was its old title.

Thanks to the Xbox hard drive, Project Ego tracks a host of minutiae related to your character's actions--minutiae that affects the land. The goal is to make the world so detailed that actions you take in the game affect the world in the future. For example, if you choose to carve your initials in a tree, the initials will still be there if you come back to the tree 10 years later.

There are also plans to apply a slightly more detailed system to the NPCs in the game. You'll be remembered if you return to towns after a long absence. Whether the memories your return call up are positive or negative depends on you. If you went on a killing spree years earlier and then pop back to the same town, odds are that the townsfolk won't be overjoyed to see you again. NPC communication also features a degree of variety, based on a number of factors from your reputation, hero standing, your appearance, and your interaction with them. There hasn't been a great deal of concrete information released on the game's communication system, which looks to be best described as a context-sensitive gesture system. In a brief demo, we saw that it was possible to flip the bird at local residents with impunity, which should make the Ego's world a suitable outlet for real life's day-to-day frustrations.

10 bucks says it gets delayed again.

Either way, I'm awaiting this game with bated breath. Ever since I first heard about it in '00. (Fuck, it's been awhile.) So close but yet so far...

Maybe it's coming out in the next decade, who knows?

But as of now, it's coming out on the 15th of June!! A mere few days before I get out of school. What timing...hopefully.

Gamespot got a hands on look at it

*crosses fingers*
