That's ok. I just reinstalled the thing. Also: if you were reading the topic, you would know that the main exe wasnt hacked at all so I could get on to Battle.net. |

I could send you a copy of the main executable if you want. |

Just rename the keys (add a letter to the beginning or something), if it doesn't work, rename them back.
...And the stuff in Karadur's post isn't the stuff you should change. |

This has to be the first time I've heard of someone wanting to uninstall a crack of some sort Anyways, there's only two options I can think of that you could choose from.
1) Find somewhere to get the original CD, if you know what I mean. I was able to find it by doing a search on a torrent site I visit somewhat often. Once you have that, you can uninstall the game as it is right now, but choose to leave your character profiles, settings or whatever else it is on your hard drive, then reinstall the game.
2) If you still have the patch you used to change your registry, and it's one that has a .reg extension, you could try opening it in Notepad or a similar program, and checking what's been changed, etc. I'm not too knowledgeable in doing that sort of thing, so only do it if you're sure you won't mess anything up. This is an example of a .reg file I found by doing a search for that filetype. Yours will probably look different, and for your own good, don't try to add this to your registry
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM\Security] "EditCustomPermissions"=hex:01,00,00,00
I assume the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE...] part shows what section of the registry is going to be edited, then the "EditCustomPermissions"=hex... part is what's actually being added to the registry. You can try removing the stuff that the file adds, but the risk of removing settings you don't want to lose would be there.
Even after saying all that though, you might not have a .reg patch, in which case everything in point 2 would be irrelevant |

The problem is: I dont know where my Starcraft disc is. I just have my Brood War disc here because that's all I'd use to play it over Battle.net. |

Just reinstall and save the fuss. You won't lose anything, as the games settings are pretty balls out straight forward. You can save all of your game files, reinstall and have a nice day. |

It never hacked the main executable. I have a seperate executable for it and the registry is changed to ensure that battle.net doesnt complain at me. |

Reinstalling it sounds like the only way, since even if anyone did know what to do, they probably wouldn't be allowed to tell you. |

First, uninstalling must be done - this is the best way to remove Blizzard's SC keys than to delete entries by hand and maybe leaving some fragments in the registry.
The best thing might be to copy the CD again, so it can be mounted with Daemon Tools or Nero ImageDrive for example, this is better than using a No-CD crack. I'm doing this also with broodwar and I'm independent from No-CD cracks, since these have to be updated every time a new patch wil be released, like 1.12 just recently. |

Yeah, generally NoCD hacks do just that: hack the main executable. You'll probably have to reinstall the game to make it act the way it did before. |

can't you uninstall it? Or maybe you can just simply reinstall it... and I thought no-cd hacks only changed program files and nothing in the registry... |

Try searching your registry for "StarCraft" or "Blizzard"
That's the problem: Even if I find it, I wont know what to change it back to. |

So a while ago my cd-rom drive died. I still wanted to play Starcraft, so I copied the cd's main file over through the network using my dad's computer and used a NoCD hack. Now that I got a new cd-rom drive and would like to change it back. The problem is, I forget what I changed in the registry, what it was, or what it is now. It was a while ago. Can someone help me with this? |
