DahrkDaiz, this is a litte off topic, but you when you use the "Bowser's Background" tiles in the hill level, it acts like water. You can swim in it. You wouldn't happen to know the byte I have to change to make it not-water? I'm going to go look for it now, but if you knew what it was, it would save me the trouble. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I hope this game succeeds, in every single way. I am so tired of this new generation of games. No originality what-so-ever, and nothing but graphics. This baby is the best thing to happen in a long time. And I hope that Capcom will continue to give us Mega Man games like this, in the classic style. It bothers me when these new gamers of today, and these game companies that used to make hit games, all they care about is money and graphics, and they criticize a game like Mega Man 9, just because it is in the style that it is. This is what gaming is all about. Not some boring, un-original, first-person shooter, that relies mostly on graphics to make the game a hit. I mean, that's all that they ever do today, is make the same crappy FPS games. [/rant]
Capcom, Thank You for Mega Man 9, and for looking past the money part, and for trying to make games good again. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Today, and yesterday, I managed to do 3 whole levels, because I did them on graph paper first. If I keep doing it this way, I'll have quality levels, and it will make this hack go by a lot faster. Right now, Dark Mario is 1/4 done. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

This is the last video for a little while. I have to do a lot of graphics work, and ASM hacks. However, Dark Mario is now 1/4 done. Worlds 1 and 2 completed, 2 levels in World 3 are done, and 1 level in World 7.
World 3: Wire-Sponge Stage. And yes, I took out the hill graphics. I will be drawing new ones soon. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Believe it or not, but I agree with you guys about the P-Switch thing. The reason why it's like that, is because if I didn't put the second set of blocks there, the munchers would still be coins, and you could simply collect them. That's why I did that. But I will be changing this soon. I will figure out something... I was even thinking of giving this level it's own special graphics, but I don't know if I want to do that or not... I'm still undecided on it. I really want it to look more like the Wire-Sponge stage, but I'm going to wait on it. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

The green background is going to grass, but yes, I can make it animated water if I want. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Just letting you guys know, Dark Mario will now include my favorite levels from SMB2, including a new gameplay feature, taken right from SMB2, the Power Jump!
World 3: SMB2 Level 1 This is a video showing the first level of SMB2, in it's early form, plus the new ASM hack I implemented, which allows you to do a power jump. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Hmm. I like that idea, but it may require more work than necessary. It took a huge amount of code just to get this thing to work. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Haha we both got ASM hacks done to this game today. Does he still have his hammers? ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Shadow Mario
I'm thinking about giving Shadow Mario a time limit, so he isn't cheap. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I might take away the fireballs, and/or lower his jump height. That will force the player to have to use the Power Jump. If Shadow Mario is going to be able to pass through enemies without getting hurt, I want him to have a drawback. That, or I could just give him a timer, like 10-20 seconds. That would make the power-up balanced. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I scrapped this hack. But I'm not necessarily abandoning it. I will be restarting the project at a later date. I got turned off by all of the ASM work involved in creating the character, Dash. I got most of the coding done too, but all of the coding I was doing, I wasn't really having fun with it. I just wanted to get away from SMB3 for a little bit, and seeing all of the MM hacks in the works, made me start this project. I'll try to learn my lesson, not to announce a hack too early.
So yeah, the hack isn't dead. All of the work I did, is just scrapped. I will restart it at a later time. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Posted by Dr. HellI wanted to comment earlier, but I had to show off my own stuff too. I liked the video, including the music you used in it. I'm assuming you did some ASM hacking to get these new features in? ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Don't worry, when I restart it, it's going to be a lot better. It's going to be a lot more planned, too. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

For some reason I had a feeling that if they did another Mega Man, it would be in the classic style, because I think Capcom actually liked the classic style better themselves, hence why they included that 8-bit mini-game in Mega Man ZX Advent. When I saw the video footage of that mini-game, I was kinda surprised that Capcom would do something like that. I'm thinking to myself, "Why include an 8-bit mini-game if all they care about is keeping the graphics up with the times?" Sounds like they missed the classic style, so why not include it in a mini-game? And then, when they had the opportunity for another Mega Man, voila! I guess after several MM games with these new styles, they are realizing that they are not as "fun" as the classic series, which is why in the interview, Inafune said that he wanted to give us a new NES game, a new MM game that brings back the fun and memories of the original. What game company today would go and do that? None of them.
"Let's just make another crappy game with 3D graphics that will fail horribly, because we have to follow the industry as they advance in graphics technology." At least Capcom is the first. The first company to actually realize that the game industry has been going down hill, and this kind of game is just what we needed. Ailure, the NES was a decent system. I honestly would rather them re-market the NES and all of their games, than see all of the crap that they put on the shelves today. I'd buy them. And I'm not alone with that idea either. My friends at work, who grew up with these games, feel the same way. I remember how awesome it was to buy SMB3 and the classic MM games when I was kid. They were very expensive, but they were worth the buy. EDIT - Classic Box Covers FTW! ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Man, wherever you go, most people think that this was a bad idea. The graphics aren't even that great either. However, it seems that the fatalities are still present, as shown at the end of the new trailer.
