My shift ends at 5 PM, so I look at my phone, it says 5:05 PM. I have a ride picking me up at 5. So I'm rushing to the time clock, and my co-worker asks me, "what shift did you do today, 7 to 4?" I go, "no, 9 to 5." He asks, "you clocking out?" I said, yeah. He says, "you know it's only 4 though right?" I'm like, "what?" He said "Yeah, it's 4." I look at the time clock, and then I look at my phone. My phone is still an hour ahead! Now, I figured because I no longer have service on a network (I use the phone as a clock), that the timer didn't automatically adjust itself. My co-workers were laughing at me, because I was all set to leave with the bag in my hand, and I still had another hour to go! I felt stupid. I got owned by my phone!

Anyone else have an interesting Daylight Savings Time story?

I'm more for the cold. My reason: When it is hot, depending on how hot it is, it can be unbearable, and the air is too humid, which makes it very uncomfortable. However, when it is cold, you have cooler fresh air, and you can always layer up if you need to. If it is too hot in the house, all you have to do is open a window. If you want fresh air, all you have to do is open a window. If it is too cold, just layer up, get a blanket, or take a hot shower.

When it is hot, only your house can be good for you if you have an air conditioner. But when you go outside, you have to deal the intense heat and humidity. In the winter, both outside and inside your house can be cool if need be.

It doesn't appeal to me. The concept looks like it has been done before. *sigh* This game industry really does suck right now. Originality is no longer around, and graphics and controllers are running the show to compensate.

Nice work there. I never understood why they had to redo Zero for his own series. There was nothing wrong with his original design.

Quite possibly the biggest forum I have ever been on. I can't get over the amount of people that are always on it. I'm rounding here, 1000 members and 1000 guests. Now, imagine if we had that kind of traffic here?

Or, suppose there was a ROM hacking section on that forum? More people would get into ROM hacking (and obviously you would get a lot of stupid questions), but the main part is that ROM hacking would be more alive than it is now, and we would see more hacks, and with all of those members, you are bound to get some talented people cramming out some really interesting hacks.

There is a section on their forum called "Models / Skins." In that section, people rip 3D models from videogames. Is that considered similar to ROM hacking, in that you are ripping models from copyrighted videogames, and using them on Garry's Mod? I could be wrong, I'm just asking.

Me being obsessive compulsive (especially when it comes to hacking ), it would be hard for me to decide if I wanted the water the first way you had it, or the second way, but I guess the second way does look better.

I was playing Sonic yesterday (Sonic Mega Collection for PS2), and I noticed that the flowers look similar to the ones you have. Did you get the idea from that?

You should see if you can make those flowers animate too. It would look nice.

From the gameplay videos I have seen, the game doesn't look impressive at all. I don't particulary care for the new slanting platforms that they have (if I remember correctly they were in the DS version as well, which I did play, and was not impressed as well), and you can't see the inside of a wall until you are actually in it (it's stupid, just show it), and there isn't anything about it that makes me want to pick it up. Another game I can pass up.

I really wish these companies would go back to their roots.

Snow is pretty, and can be fun as its falling, but it can also be a pain in the ass. When you wake up the next morning, you have to spend loads of time clearing the driveway, and then you have to brush and thaw out your cars, and then at nightime things get icy. You are basically spending lots of time trying to get around the snow. And on the road too. So, I guess I would have to vote Yes and No, but if we were only allowed to vote one option, I'd have to say No. It's pretty, but it really is too much a pain in the ass to deal with.

Doesn't this stage look like it was done before? It reminds me of Megaman 3. Even though I know its a new level, the fact that it reminds me of Megaman 3 is pretty good!

That train reminds me of the train level in Megaman 5.

And this one reminds me of the Blizzard Buffalo stage from MMX3 (don't ask me why). I'm hoping this game sells well also. I would love for Capcom to make a MMX9 in the 16-bit style.

I'm wondering if there will be a "Snow Man" considering that the name hasn't been used yet, and this is another ice level that has a snow-man enemy in it.

You know, the only thing I'm worried about is Capcom milking this. They realized how much people liked MM9, and are now making MM10, probably solely on the fact that retro-lovers will fangasm at the concept of it. I'm afraid, though, that they'll make a shitty game just to appease fans. Hopefully I'm wrong about this, cause I want it to be awesome, like MM9.
I doubt that they will make a shitty 8-bit Megaman game. It has yet to happen (knock on wood, for all we know this one could, now that we said it), and Megaman is always fun.

But, I WANT Capcom to milk this. I WANT them to keep making these 8-bit Megaman games. They are actually games that don't suck. I don't really buy videogames anymore. I haven't bought a videogame in years (no joke, literally years). I only play retrogames, and I'm hoping that this will finally knock some sense into these other companies that think they all they have to do is pump out super graphics to get a great game. Capcom will just keep proving them wrong.

You have to give Capcom credit. It is the first company to actually make the transition back to retro-gaming. Even if it is just one game every couple of years, they realize what the gamers really want, and they are giving it to them. And although this doesn't mean retro-gaming will come back from these companies, it is a start.

I personally think Sports Man would be an awesome name.
He'd be a real sport. Speaking of sports, I'm kinda surprised that Capcom hasn't thought to port Megaman Soccer to the DS yet.

Anyway, the trailer is now on YouTube. I found that the one on Capcom Japan's site tends to stop because it takes a lot longer to load. This trailer is the English one, and on YouTube it runs fast and smooth. Enjoy!

I'm finding the demo to be too hard. A little ridiculous to be honest with you. And this is coming from someone who is a Megaman master.

The very beginning of the subcon stage is a pain in the ass. For the first flying cape, you have to time it just right so that the spark enemy is on the opposite side of the cape side, so you can get to the next cape. And this can be tricky because of the speed of both objects. I got past if a few times, but I died mostly. It was considered a "miracle" when I could get to the second cape. And then, after all of the countless attempts of frustration, I finally get to the cave part, and then when you die there, you have to start all the way back from the beginning again. So, I had enough of that stage.

The metool fights, they are too hard and not very fair to be very enjoyable, and I can't get anywhere with it, so I just gave up with that. I'm sure they are beatable like you said, but when they are that difficult, it ruins the fun, and then I just don't feel like bothering with it.

The PlantMan stage. The stage is cool, but you take a lot of hits from the enemies. And it just winds up being one enemy after the next. Which leads me to the ultimate question:

For god sakes, do you ever give the player any health capsules? You should put some around here and there. If you're going to bombard the player with enemies constantly, put some health capsules around. And I don't mean the small ones.

Graphics are great, ASM is great, music is cool, presentation is beautiful, all top-notch. Awesome story mode scenes. But the difficulty definitely needs to be adjusted. If you're going to put enemies everywhere, put some health capsules in. And you don't need to have enemies literally everywhere. And I would suggest removing those sparks from the flying capes. Place them elsewhere, such as in the dark cave area. There is too much free space in that cave anyway. It would be a great area for those sparks. And if you make the the beginning of the stage easier, you won't need to add a checkpoint in the cave area.

I just can't complete this demo. The most enjoyment I've got from it so far, are the story mode and presentation. The story scenes are great, and I love the loading screen and the enemy preview screens.

The game has great potential, and looks really cool, but the demo is a real turn off because of the difficulty. I hope you will consider releasing another demo with some adjustments. Keep up the good work. This is turning out to be a big hack like Megaman Forever. And you inspired me a little bit, so that's always good.

I've been googling some articles, and I also just noticed that Konami has a new Castlevania game for WiiWare, The Adventure Rebirth. Some people say that it won't happen, but is that really the case?

We got Megaman 9, Capcom is now making the 10th one, Konami is making this Castlevania Rebirth game, and Nintendo made New SMB Wii in 2D Scrolling (with obvious 3D graphics). I'm sure they are catching on to the fact that the classic-style of games just appeals more, and maybe this is just the beginning.

I'm thinking that maybe this could be the start of retrogaming coming back into play. And if so, then that would be the best thing to happen to the game industry in years.

What do you think? Is it likely to happen?

There always been crap games, and some of my favorite games was released this decade infact. I don't think it will automatically make a game better because it's "retro".
I didn't say it would. What I'm saying is that I think in today's generation of game development, there is no love. These companies feel that games are all about the graphics and 3D environments, and it's not true. Gameplay is more important, and I feel they have lost sight of that.

There is a bigger quantity of better games on the previous generation of consoles (NES, Super NES, Genesis, PlayStation, N64), where as the more we advance in gaming technologly, these companies are like "gamers want better graphics, they want realistic environments", and this is such a bullshit way of thinking.

Retro games focus more on gameplay because they don't have these super graphics, and notice how popular they are. Gee, I wonder why?

It wasn't the flying carpets that bothered me. With those spark enemies looping around the block platforms like that, it makes it very difficult to make it across. They should be taken out and put elsewhere, in my opinion.
