Even better. I regret trading in my Super NES and all of its games years ago. I traded them in when I found out about emulation, but there is nothing like having and playing the real thing. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Oh well. At least there will be more Japanese Rockman hacks in general. I hope. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

It's nice to see that ROM hacking is in full force. I like all of the projects I am seeing. Good luck on your hacks guys. I will have some new stuff to show pretty soon as well. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Giving up and going to Game Maker just because you don't know how to do ASM hacking is the wrong attitude to have. I know, I've been there. I wanted to do the same exact thing with Megaman.
First, let me ask you, do you have basic programming knowledge? Do you know how loops work? How IF statements work? How to print stuff to the screen? Basically, do you have any programming experience in any language? Even if you know QBasic (by knowing that, you should have basic programming knowledge), that is all you need to do ASM hacking. People aren't going to teach you, for lots of reasons: 1. They don't have the time. 2. They are working on their own projects. 3. There are documents that will tell you all the things you need to know. There was a time I didn't know jack about ASM hacking. In a way I feel bad for you, because I was in the same boat. But giving up is never the answer, and as long as you have a willingness to learn, and you have time and patience, you can do it. But, keep in mind, that ASM hacking is not really fun. I've been doing it for a while, and although I love the results I get, all of that programming, and working with the game's engine, can be frustrating, and quite simply a pain in the ass. My first ASM hack was actually in SMB3. I made it so that when you jump on the P-Switch, you automatically aquire the Kuribo's Shoe. Now, I figured out how to make it so that you can get a Kuribo's Shoe as a powerup from a block (which is present in my hack). There are lots of documents out there, that show you how the NES works, and there are documents on ASM hacking. I'm not going to teach you, because I just don't have the time, but I can help you get started in the right direction. The easiest ASM hack, to do, for any game, is the Infinite Lives ASM hack. In fact, I wrote a document on how to do this one time. It was for SMB. I don't know if that document is still on the web or not, but I might make something up to help newbies get started. I think the best Infinte Lives ASM document should have pictures and words, so you get the general idea. I might make one. Might prove to be useful to new guys wanting to get into ASM hacking. But I wouldn't give up on ROM hacking just yet. There is still a lot to learn. In the meantime, here are a few links for you: http://desnet.kodewerx.net/doc/fceud_tutor1.txt http://patater.com/gbaguy/nesasm.htm http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=3788 http://www.google.com http://http://nesdev.parodius.com Allow yourself to learn. Good luck. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

This tutorial is in 3 different images. It shows big text and actual images of the game being hacked in the FCEUXD SP emulator. I made this to help give new guys to ASM hacking, a push in the right direction. I hope you will find this tutorial useful. Good luck.

Speaking of hand out, I find it funny that during the time you made your post, I was actually making up that little tutorial. But DahrkDaiz is right, don't expect hand-outs. I made that little tutorial to give new guys a push in the right direction. A majority of it is the learning process. This is just a sample of what you need to learn. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

It's actually 3 seperate big images. But they are in jpeg format. I hope it's not causing slowdown for you. I felt that making it as an image was the only way to get everything I wanted down so people could clearly read it and understand everything. A revision can be made if necessary. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

As I said in the tutoraial, each game is different. In some games, that may be the case, but it isn't for this instance, which is why checking to make sure you have the right address is important. In SMB3, $04 is 4 for the lives. In a different game, 4 may be $03, for the lives. It depends on how they coded it. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

A little off-topic: I saw the link in your sig, I didn't know they had a whole place dedicated to Final Fantasy Tactics hacking. That's really cool. One of the best FF games ever made. Thanks for putting that in your sig. I'm gonna have to check this place out soon. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I must be the only one who hasn't cared about the series since it went next-gen.
You can say what you want about XIII. You can say the graphics look great, or whatever, the fact is, Final Fantasy really died when it went next-gen. The last okay FF game in my opinion was FF9. Ever since it went next-gen, it has really sucked horribly. And I'm getting really tired of them putting a Cloud look-a-like in every game ever since FF7. It is really annoying now. We don't need a male blond character that has to stand out in a way, like Cloud did. It is obvious they keep trying to do this with every FF game. Cut it out already. And while the graphics may be really good, I find that too much stuff going on the screen is not really that great. It makes things confusing and un-realistic. Have you seen the latest FF13 trailer? When you add too much detail, nothing really stands out that great. There is too much magic, vanishing, and fast-paced action going on to really keep up everything. That is how I feel about the difference between classic Megaman and the Zero/ZX series. The Zero/ZX series puts way too much detail into their graphics. Some detail is good. But when you over-do it, it gets out of hand. Final Fantasy 13, featuring a blond-haired Cloud/Zell/Tidus/Vaan look-a-like. Why am I not surprised??? And the story doesn't even look that interesting. One of my co-workers said that he actually enjoyed Revenant Wings better than FF12 itself. Square needs to take lessons from Capcom. Graphics don't make a game. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I don't need to wait for it to come out. The videos speak for themselves. Look at FF12. The end result was disappointing. If you're going to show off a game, you'll see what it is going to be like. This game looks horrible, and I won't be buying it. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I wasn't talking about her. I was talking about that blonde guy. His name is Snow. What is it with Square and their obsession to re-create Cloud? ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Right now I don't have any motivation to hack. I haven't done any serious hacking in weeks. Don't you hate when that happens to you? And I've been playing videogames to see if I can get some inspiration and ideas so I can hack, but nothing has worked.
Just goes to show that you can have the skills, but not the will. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Posted by Quick CurlyI hear ya. It's a dull feeling, especially when you don't have any time. Thanks man. I appreciate it. Good luck to you too! Oh, by the way, I found these 2 videos on YouTube just now, that are really cool. They are not actual games, but they were made in flash/photoshop. This is some guy's creation of what a hypothetical MegaMan 10 would look like, and I gotta say, for a made-up video, it looks really good. And the ideas and talent is just perfect. Check out the robot bosses and the weapons you get from them! These 2 videos are definitely a must-see for any Megaman fan! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzgvSTA9fDo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiMewBWnKeI ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Just something I'm doing for fun. I'm going to try to improve on the graphics a bit more.

I'd go back in time. Back to the 90's.
- WCW and WWF, When wrestling was good - Married with Children - NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, PlayStation - GameBoy, GameBoy Pocket, GameBoy Color - Grandma's house, pool parties - Sega Genesis - Super Mario World - Ripley's Believe it or Not - Home Improvement - All the best movies, Terminator, T2 - Cartoon Network, Johnny Quest, Space Ghost, Dexter's Laboratory - Manhunt at night-time on the whole block with 15 friends - Stayed overnight at friends house, played Toe Jam and Earl on the Super NES - Elementary and High School were good - Starcraft - Mega Man Soccer - Fun in Elementary, first crush on girls - All the nostalgic moments - Block parties in the summer time with the beautiful sunset - Big 4th of July parties - People actually went outside and did things. Today everyone stays in, uses the computer. - No social lives today. I don't know, but I personally feel that the times today suck. If I could go back and be a kid again, I'd do it all over again. Much more fun, and much more nostalgic memories. It sucks being an adult in these new times. 1985 to 2003 - Good times. Anyone else feel the same? Or have similar feelings? ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

Posted by infidelityI went through the same problem when I was coding the Spin Wheel. There is a reason for it. There is a chance you added more code than you really needed when you were dealing with the collision detection. Also, if you want to make the bullet clipping even better, you should add a sprite for when the bullet hits the wall. A lot of this has to do with how the game's weapons format works. If you can figure a lot of this out, you can even learn to make your own weapons. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |

I don't think this inactivity will last forever. It is temporary. As soon as we start seeing more of those cool Japanese Rockman hacks, and more people find their way to board2, and some people register and post interesting stuff, inspiration and motivation will pick up, and we will start seeing more things. We are just in a quiet phase right now. ____________________ My YouTube Channel |
