No, it doesn't look good, even though I see what you were trying to do. However, you could use that blue streak to your advantage. If you are not going to lower the title logo, you can use the blue streak to cover up some of that space in the middle. But, I wouldn't use the blue streak as-is. Shade it. It should look like this:

Like I said, "needs adjustments". i don't like harsh dithering, so I'll try something different.

You're right. This does look better. Good job.

Thanks guys! Here is a video of the stage. Also, I've been adding "Visit Board2 @ acmlm.kafuka.org/board" to my YouTube videos, and added a lot of tags, to try to get more people to come to this board.

The celing, the background fence, the oil drums, and the fire are ripped from other MM games, but the rest of the graphics are mine.

Seems too easy. I'd add some more enemies.
That's because its not done yet. I'm still working on the level. Once the level is complete, I'll be placing a lot more enemies in.

Nice screenshots there. I love the Lost Levels in SMAS, I never really got through that hack though, but nice work anyway.

I've been busy doing a lot of level edits, and graphics upgrading.

Thank you. It's far from done though. I still have a lot more detail to add, and the level to complete. When this level is done, it really will look like an authentic level from a Capcom MM game.

I'm having my own doubts about the pipes that I added. Do they look good, or should I ditch them?

I want them to make Mega Man X9 in the 16-bit Super NES style. And they could have it use MMX2 aspects, such as the music style, and the bike you can use, and I just think that a MMX9 done in that style would be 10 times better than the 3D crap we've been getting. They really should do it. Did Mega Man 9 sell well? I read that supposedly the sales were good, but Capcom stated that they were "'cautiously optimistic'" or something like that.

Version A.

But honestly, I like your first draft the best.

@logical Operand: Why do you like the super plain one?
I like the simplicity of it, and it just looks more Mega Man like than the newer ones. I would use it. I would add light blue streaks behind them, like in MM2, or look at the other NES Megamans for references. But I'm not too crazy about the newer ones you have. Not to say that they are horrible, they just don't give you that MM feeling that the first one seems to be giving.

I'd also like to announce that I will be attempting to place a new ASM hack into the stage select screen that will display the name of the robot master at the bottom of the screen when you place the cursor on his panel. It will probably be a huge hassle, but meh, i'll enjoy doing it.
Nice idea there. It shouldn't be too hard to do.

I'm going to give this a try right now! Pan, I didn't think you were going to release anything until it was complete.

My first run through it, when I got up to the door where you had to enter the passcode, the game froze on me. I had to reset and start all over.

Difficulty-wise, I felt it was a bit difficult, and unfair in certain areas. Such as the room where you had to use the Rush Coil to get the passcode, I tried falling from the ladder, but I hit the spikes.

The room where you had to climb the ladders to get a passcode, was a bit unfair too. One hit on the ladder, could screw you completely. Once they are above your head, you have no choice but to re-enter the room and try again.

And the beginning of the level, where you had to jump ladder to ladder, all of those enemies coming at you. Too many of them clumped together. I got by when they knocked me down, and I just slid on the spikes.

The 1-up next to that eye-ring enemy is a little unfair jump.

- Music was great.
- Graphics were good. It was a little hard to distinguish the background from the solid foreground tiles at times.
- I liked the intro stage, reminded me of MM7 and MM&B.
- I felt the spinning-metools health was a bit much. I felt that a fully-charged shot should kill it. But it took more than that. I like that they couldn't be killed with one or two shots, but I felt the maximum health should've been equivilant to a fully-charged shot.
- The skeleton guys at the beginning of the level, the game started to flicker and have that slowdown. There was too much going on there. Maybe take one or two of them out?

Other than that, it was okay.

Implementing the name-displaying in the box below shouldn't be too hard. If you need help, let me know.
