What would be, in my eyes, the better option is if you condensed down your findings into, say, a text step-by-step guide to bootstrapping the NES and displaying things on the screen. That guide could then be uploaded somewhere or even linked in a mass information sticky.
And it might not seem much, but a such good would actually be useful. Kinda would made my NES programming experiments much quicker.

I wasn't really programming much to make a game though, just getting to know the console hardware.

Like it. Behaves like Lunar Magic, except that it's for the SMB3 NES ROM.
I don't think it will generally be that easy, considering how some things are trickier to do on the NES due to the way ROM works, such as expanding it.

That's the biggest issue I was wondering about with SMB3 editor. How to do a flexible editor... that resizes a level on the run. I had thoughts about like, making the editor mark areas of the ROM that is free space (mostly original level data), and use that. But I don't know if all levels are clumped into one place, or is spread all over the ROM banks haphazardly.

I wonder if it wouldn't be easier to implement that into the emulator at this point.

Hmm. Not that I find Game Genie codes necessary to play the games still... apart from screwing around with glitches or debugging.

Is there any major differences between AdvanceMap and Elitemap anyway.

I figure it's a good idea either way, since AdvanceMap seems to be... still actively developed on. Last I checked anyway.

Ah good.

The graphics looked good there but I had a hard time seeing what belongs to the foreground, and what is the background. Having the background a bit darker is good, backgrounds usually are too in most games to be distinct from the bright foreground.

There's a few famous blind musicans, and a deaf composer... so I guess it would work out .

...but I can imagine it being bit of a hell with being a composer and deaf. While they could imagine it inside their head, they wouldn't be able to hear it for real...

Discussion have rose up in #acmlm lately about openTTD again lately. Seems like interest have increased lately.

I'm leaning towards using UKRS with PBI, as usual. And OpenTTD 0.6.0-beta2 for binary, which seems to be stable as far I can tell. And with there being no "must have" feature in the nightlies.

Done the staying up 24 hours thing, although I usually put a small nap inbetween in those 24 hours so I don't turn too crazy.

I nap by slightly sleeping uncomfortable. That way I don't sleep for too long...

Talking about playable Animal crossing charcther, I actually wonder if they will make it possible to have the Mii playable in Smash Bros Brawl. oO I wouldn't surprise if it was possible, but is just one of those things they hold off until the release.

Yes. The only feature that is in the nightlies, but not in the beta is a small improvement to a terraforming tool. And it's not really that huge or important change.

As far I know, as long you aren't using ECS newGRF (which I'm not planning to use) with the Win32 binary, things should run fine from what I heard with the beta version as well.

Probably just this newGRF pack will do. The binary can be downloaded from the openTTD site, and the core GRF files are... easily obtainable on IRC.
