Because he appears in game with all of the Mushroom Kingdom characters, and not the Wario-specific ones.

At least, far as I know.

He isn't too major character anyway, so I'm not too surprised about only seeing him as trophy.

Might consider additional graphics at this point as well.

I'm not really too overly concerned about overworld design as you can see, except that it's pretty much agreed that there's a inside and outside of the tower.

Well, all mushroom Kingdom characters appears with the mushroom icon.

Wario gets his own only because he have his own spinoff games (Warioware games).

I know you're trying to joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if the computer was furry inside. For some reason, my apartment gets dusty quick and the dust used to be kinda... Purple. I just assumed this was from some cloth that coloured itself off on the dust.

Should really clean the inside of my computer one of those days, considering how whiny it's fans have gotten. ._.

Nice with the custom song JaSp. I hadn't seen too many NES hacks with custom songs. Interesting concept with the overworld there too.

I had played this as a kid too and just recently rediscovered it. I started work on the editor immediately after finishing the game. (Well, actually I still have two bonus worlds to complete, but still...)

I just saw it in some game magazine as a kid, and thought it looked like a strange but fun game.

And Wario is pretty much warui (悪い) and Mario being mixed together. So yeah, it's a Japanese pun as well. Waluigi is not as good pun, but they wanted to do a evil Luigi for one of the spinoff games I guess.

@Ailure: To the best of my knowledge no one has ever combined all three into a cohesive game, and I don't know of anyone having done anything with Super Mario Bros. Special. Also, I'm doing because I think it'll be fun to try to do it myself.

Well, I honestly think there is enough of those hacks already.

Considering all they do is copying the graphics and levels from the original game and paste over SMW.
