I went with XP because I heard of horrible bloated Vista is. And DX10 dosen't seem to be worth it enough.

Also I'm considering to put Ubuntu on my laptop. Becuse I realized I hardly play games on my laptop, and most of the programs I use work well, or even better in Linux.

Hey, I have that 2.6 GHZ dual-core processor.

It's great. I probably would recommend buying it over the overly expensive one. I yet have to get into a situation where my CPU is the bottleneck. And it being dual-core is just pure awesome...

I don't really think that the other processor is 9x more powerful as someone say. Also multicore processors only benefits when there's several threads that requires lots of CPU time. Dual-core helps lots performance wise as a thread can go really greedy without slowing down the system but... I'm not sure if Quad core makes really that huge difference as dualcore does. Very few programs are pure multi-threaded for some reason... (come on, it's not really THAT hard programming-wise)

Alien crossfire works fine for me here. The alien races are a bit overpowered, but that's on purpose I suspect. I almost want to make a SMAC clone, to refine a already awesome game. <<

Pretty much soon with one of my computer labs (very easy, just some simple shell scripting in Linux ). After that it's Two and a half months of pure nothing to do. Isn't that fun. <3

Anyway, what are you people's plans for summer? I might finally get around doing some of my personal hacking projects, that's been in the early documentation stage for awhile now...

There's severeal ways. You can use the diskwriter plugin in winamp to dump stuff as you play it, or you can use a emulator that can record sounds, such as FCE ultra.

On a more serious note... I really hope that hospital will get heavy fines and the persons involved get fired. :/ I hear about people get mistreated now and then... but not in a such obvious case as this one.

I don't think that the Mac OS X theme is crappy, but on the other hand I don't either like when programs suddenly use a different look and feel than the standard one. It tends to look out of place most of the time. Hell, when we made a java application in a school project first thing we made sure was the the GUI would set itself to the host OS look and feel.

I might give it a try later, when they fixed the security related bugs. Yes Windows have a flawed security design, but that's no excuse to release buggy software. :/ Though I always viewed Safari as "Konquerer for Mac"...
