I still think kids should learn with Python or Basic. They're excellent introductions to programming and providing you set your aims low, you can learn the fundamentals and make a program in an afternoon.
But seeing text appearing on a commandline interface isn't as fun as seeing sprites jumping around.

I actually own a copy of Klick and Play. Even if it were a bit simple and restricted, I did learn about how typical gamelogic would work.

I can't see why it would teach you bad habits. From what I see, it's top-down design... unlike basic. Having GOTO's everywhere is considered a bad habit.

Well, Animal crossing is basically Animal Forest but translated, some stuff changed to fit a western audience and some features added, such as the NES games. And that it follows a system clock too, I don't know if the N64 version had a inbuilt clock or if the player had to set the date manually each time he starts the game.

Besides MMC3 is a awesome mapper, programming-wise that is.

I honestly need to play around with it more.

Great way to find out if you have telepathic powers.

But honestly, that sucks. I assume he got someone to post the thread for someone. I would turn crazy if I wasn't able to use my arms for awhile...

...then I probably would start typing with my toes. Some people even do that.

I prefer using the software renderer in the doom ports anyway.

Regular pop tastes syrupy and gross, and I wouldn't want to switch back anyway because the taste isn't worth all the extra calories.
Now I think on it...

Regular coke gives me a heartburn more easily, and seems to be more sour... which I belive is for mixing down more sugar or something, while that's not needed with diet coke.

I still drink diet-coke now and then, just not often.

In regards to this proto, the only part that really appeals to me is the new underground music. Maybe I should see what I could do about porting it to the final game, or something.
Shouldn't be too hard, assuming that music engine hadn't been "worked on". Some people have already messed with the music, I remember someone's hack with custom music and Acmlm even replaced the engine with his own.

I wonder which franchise would be next to finally get a sequel after almost a decade. Duke nukem forever?

I just had a re-exam in OOP071.

I had fear that I would miss it. xD So I constantly did check the date for it, over and over again. Even the hour before it started.

I finished it unusually quickly for being me (two hours!), and apart from some question related to lists in Java (hadn't used the much ) I pretty much aced it. Wouldn't surprise me if I got the top grade on it.

I have another exam on Monday. Some people are thinking of skipping it and take the re-exam instead (due to having lots of stuff to do), but I will at least give it a try since I live close to the college anyway. I'm kinda ahead on my group project anyway.

And yes, with the Swedish system you can miss exams. You can retake as many times you need, as long the course (or a similar one) still exists.

Heh, I never got selection questions on exams. I gotten true/false ones... where wrong answers gives you negative points. I'm not fond of those, especially when they give a huge amount of points. (You need 50% of total points right to pass, 75% to get max grade)

I'll play it of course, but I doubt it'll be as good as it's going to be hyped up to be.
So far the game doesn't seem that different from it's prequel in the few screenshot and videos I seen. Sure they might be afraid of screwing up a formula that works but...

Of course, this is at some site which encourages people to seed instead of just leech. Now I can download the whole MAME ROM set without having to share. ;P Though I always does anyway. I usually try to get over 0.5 at least for 'insanely popular torrents' otherwise it's 1.0.

I just wait for the damn European release.

Even if I have to wait a half year sometimes. :/ It can be noted that this is usually only a problem with console/handheld games... PC games are usually released within the same week, if not day.

I'm amused that minerals resemble Blue Tiberium in screenshots.

I don't recall it being that dark blue.

And about nukes. Some RTS series had really weak nukes, but made them stronger with it's sequels. Command and Conquer: Red alert probably have the weakest nuke in the whole CnC series. Super weapons was made much more powerful in CnC3, but then buildings were generally bigger scalewise too. And while all sides had different super weapons, and while they worked differently in how they damage stuff... they still did do around the same amount of damage.

And Starcraft is one of those RTS games that made three different sides without resorting to having 'clone units' between the sides that functions nearly the same. Biggest similarity between the sides in Starcraft is pretty much how they collect resources. While I prefer CnC3 (and Red alert games) over Starcraft I have to say that each side have some similarity. It's understandable when it's two/three different human factions... but not with a third alien faction. xD But yeah, I find it awesome when they manage to balance a game without resorting to making lots of clone units.

Gaming companies are sometimes in a moment 22 situation when it comes to sequels. You either hold onto a working formula, and get blamed on for not being too original, or you strife away from it and people complain that the new system works worse than the original or that it feels like a different game series.

I graduated for two years ago from secondary upper school.

Give me another year, and I will have graduated from college/university.

They´ll be released around July here, Ailure.
I know, but I figured that with my current buffer of games I probably won't get bored until next semester starts. So I kind have no "must get game now" rush.

Hmm, I blame the similarity for the fact that minerals seems to be glowing now. xD

At least, I would expect the mineral appearing slightly transparent in Starcraft2. Then it's early screenshots and it might change, and it might not. :p
