From what I seen, not really. Best way is exprimentating with tax rates by trying the following tax rates 16%, 20%, 23%, 25% and 28%. If your population is quite happy, you can usually get away with highest tax. (as the game works, happier the people are... the more they earn. But their happiness decreases with high taxes). I went with 28% rather early on, as I found nice resources right away.

More indepth info.

Made this chart that kinda proves above... The difference between 25% and 28% is quite bit more extreme now when my nation earns more money! I'm up to $17.63 per citizen.

Oh yeah, I got kicked out of that class for trying to recover my files in the DOS Novell utility program. I kid you not.
Ahh... I love people who think command line = hacking tool.

I only recall one recent incident in college, and that was when the whole class was suspected for hacking, for using a Ethernet we weren't allowed to apparently. In the end, none got the blame it seems...

And then we have the wonderful upper secondary school times, when people sometimes nagged me about Kitty porn. Oi. --;

I thought we already had a thread about this.

And you would have to change the clock back about in two weeks as that's when Germany (and Sweden) will have it's DST.

I sense some weirdness outside of the board and have a gut feeling that someone might get seriously hurt perhaps? I'm assuming Kawa is close to you guys in Sweden?
He's in the Netherlands, you know the country with legal-drugs and all kind of weird stuff happening.

Though he's going to come over in a few weeks.

I tried thunderbird for a bit once. >> Problem is that the mail I use is web-mail based ones... though I might get a real e-mail account one of those days.

And Tina's legs are peeking down... aren't you little obessed with your sitters?

Meh, the game should done a failsafe check before it declares a loss to prevent things like that happening. Before failing, check if there's any possible combo going on.

Well, looking up what laffer curve is about more indepth, no the game doesn't really follow it. :/ If I draw a graph for various tax rates, it's hardly a smooth curve due how the game works.

I got my aid anyway, 200K <3. Increased my technology up to 4 (and I guess it will stay there for awhile) and will expand my infrastructure like crazy in the next few days.

Edit:
Went up four tech (realized that three would been enough) and invested the rest on Infrastructure. If the aid was a loan, I would be able to pay it back within a week, although it's probably more wise to keep expanding. <3

I miss my Mario movie layout though.

Well, you get happiness bonus if you switch to the government they want. And democracy isn't bad, so go for it.

Sadly, my people wanted one of the worst governments styles. xD But then the benefit of the additional happiness point overweight my decision about keeping my former government style.

Cheat sheet (look at the bottom)

Yeah, the difference between those two might not be too clear with the description given.

And well, if the population hate you it's for a good reason, so I wouldn't worry if you're good so far. (Bad event decision, you got attacked by someone, one of your trades broke up etc).

Well, part of the problem is with the breakdown system is that it's get broken for big networks. Originally TTD was limited to a few vehicles, and therefore the game had such design restrictions.

Eh, I wouldn't mind 1024x1024 but it's about the double as my proposed size. I want to make sure people's computers can handle it. >>

Something like 2048x256 can be fun too. xD

Ah yeah, you don't want your nation to fall into anarchy after all. Although with the alliance on my back, I will have protection against wars. And I'm not really in bad terms with anyone, although I probably should say sorry to someone I broke up a trade with. xD

For Ninja AE theme, we probably just make a new but similar concept theme instead with a different song.

Or maybe full of flash animations or something.

Before a exam: I can't sleep at all.
After a exam: I sleep too much.

Yes I just finished a exam, although Americans probably would call it a final test or something. Oh well, I'm tired as hell now due to me staying up and studying like usual.

It's understandable that if you were stronger because you had aid and he didn't, and the age difference isn't big but... 111 days?

Maybe he's just playing really aggressive. It's actually possible to get bombarded back to zero infrastructure and everything, but this usually happens when you piss off a whole alliance...

...an excellent reason to add to my collective pile of "Why Flash fucking sucks".
Yeah, it's indeed flash. I guess any browser would be insecure when you use... insecure plugins. :/ I should check if it's possible with Java applets, but I doubt it as Java VM goes nazi about security. (which makes some applets... interesting to develop).

I can confirm that Firefox throws a warning if a javascript tries to access the clipboard. Badly written script on a course forum...

But Thexare is right. While I don't mind browser debates, they shouldn't appear in the middle of a help threads.
