So hey guys what have you been up to lately?
Been spending the past day to get a old unsupported parallel port card working manually in Linux. It was... quite the experience. I did get it to work, had to look up the I/O addresses it uses with lspci then manually specifying it with "modprobe parport_pc io=0xd100". Surprisingly it actually worked. (And I was about to consider to write my own driver) ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I thought for awhile that there was going to be a flood of cartoonic games ala Team Fortress 2 a, Battlefield Heroes and etc but it didn't happen. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I played it a bit, it have way more focus on melee weapons than most Zombie games. There is guns but it's not that commonly used as far I heard. Though I admit I only really got around playing the intro part of the game. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Earthbound Zero/Mother 1: Spoiler: When magicant was destroyed due to Ninten's great grandmother finally letting go of the world. A sad moment, even if the bad translation almost narm'd it. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Binding of Isaac gotta be the most disturbingly weird game of the year. But that's expected when Edmund McMillen is involved, Super Meat Boy was infact pretty tame compared to what most of what they do.
The game itself is pretty fun too. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Still use Twitter and Google+. Twitter much less now, I kinda like the Google+ format for social networking, though I hope that more than geeks are using it. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

It was a really easy fix, sorry for it being so down for a quite few hours. Just let me know if it happens again. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by blackhole89I'll consider it malpractice personally so I'm surprised at the verdict of it being "manslaughter" (then again it's always taken a notch up when celebrity is involved). Neverthless he should have quite known that it was a overdose. :/ ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

So anyone else looking forwards to this? Personally I didn't care until three months ago or so, when friends gave me a taste for DOTA style games (we played Heroes of Newarth), and I was blown away by how deep the game actually was. Now I'm just eagerly waiting on a beta invite, despite still being somewhat of a newbie. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I didn't get that much for this christmas, though I gave a 3DS to my sister. People have a hard time to gift me things nowadays as I tend to get what I want right away.
I got plenty of chocolate from work as well. A huge bag with it. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I'm gonna be amused at the (admittly) few people who are getting worked up over a silly quirk in the mayan dating system.
Not much planned for this year. I just plan to float along as usual. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

As I said in a chat to Blackhole89, it's not quantity but quality for me. And I do not mind this being our closeknit corner as a forum, even if the activity might not necessarily be as high as bigger forums.
Posted by blackhole89It would be fruitless in my attempt since everyone I know are either not into the stuff this board covers, or already knows about it. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I got and played DOTA2! It's awesome, to the point that I'm about to uninstall the other dota games i have (which is only Heroes of Newarth anyway). ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Well I admit that playing the Dota style games that sometimes it's a complete mystery to me why the game is as famous as it is. It's a very unforgiving game, where games are quite long and mistakes are unforgiving (you feel a kind of shame if you keep getting killed etc).
Yet at the same time it's what makes it fun for me, though I mostly play with friends who are more forgiving compared to x random player. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

OpenTTD website
OpenTTD is a open source project based on the game "Transport Tycoon Deluxe", adding features to the original game while being portable and absolutely free! (You need the original game if you want the original graphics/music/sound, but OpenTTD otherwise have a free version. Just install and play!) Anyway, people been asking me about the game ever since Yogcast covered it. Yogcast part 1 - Yogcast part 2 So I'm wondering if anyone is interested in running a multiplayer game with me? I'm thinking of making it cooperative, basically one big company rather than multiples. Maybe Vanilla vehicles, maybe not. I try to not make it too hard. I gladly show people the ropes over multi-player but the official wiki is strongly recommended as a manual. I been playing Transport tycoon for awhile, infact I started with a demo version in 1994-1995, so I guess I'm a 16 year old TT veteran. Game is now ongoing at 81.225.80.29, server password is asdf. Join and ask for company password. The thread title will be server status. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Heh, same thing happened to me in Cave story. I thought I had everything, but apparently forgot to obtain whimsical star. Which I also forgot the last few times I played the games too, and I'm already past the point of no return.
I remember it took me a few years (2-3?) to figure out how to get the secret levels in Yoshi Island too. I didn't really try to get 100 on every level. Now I always 100 a level in the first try. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

I seem to recall that out of the levels in the SNES Yoshi Island, World 5 secret was easily the hardest on to finish.
GBA version added a bonus level for each world, although I don't recall them being as hard, but they do contain some stuff that was unused in the SNES original (like homing bullet bills) so still pretty neat. Currently replaying the GBA version on my 3DS. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org
