How was it figured out? That's quite interesting nevertheless.

Hacking it into MMC5 sounds like a good idea if space is truly that limited. Then again the space is only a problem if the hack winds up being bigger than the original idea, as long the old level data is used like free space.

I'm fond of power of two numbers, and tend to make notice when they appear in everyday situations. And I always imagine a rollover when something is about to go over 255.

It's hard to get snow right. I guess if you replace that grey with something better looking shade, or dither it up a little, it probably would look good.

I'd also recommend getting the game soonish since the beta might start any week now as soon Notch gets some crucial bugs fixed. Which will make the game slightly more expensive. *looks on Blackhole*

Not that I remember. But yeah I mainly whistle with my tongue, I curl it in the weird way within my mouth.

Apparently there is a lot of various ways to do it, so I'd guess it's bit of a trial and error thing for newbies.

There are both pro-wikileaks and anti-wikileaks DDoS'ing all over the net. It's kind of hilarious yet annoying at the same time. I know for fact that it didn't take too long from the Swedish PP mirroring Wikileaks, until they got hit by DDoS too.

Most media I stumble across is very pro-wikileaks, it's mostly some media sources in USA and politicians who have problems with it (and surprisingly, Fox News isn't putting a huge anti-wikileaks slant as I thought they would, but then again they don't like the current head of state). And those politicians tend to be the ones in power, while the pro-wikileaks politicians usually aren't... go figure. Maybe they got something to hide.

I beat Batman for NES on my real NES a few years (two years?) ago. It was the only NES game we had that we hadn't beaten over the years, so it felt good.

(Well ok I still have taht Knight Rider game laying around...)

And interestingly, we had underwater cables cross-atlantic since the 19th century or so. See here.

Of course we switched from copper-based cables to fiber-optics at some point, but it sure have a long legacy.

Yup, I was fascinated reading about it on Wikipedia the other day. And how vulnurable they are, I'm surprised they hadn't been ripped up on purpose by some group by now. Most related outages are "accidental".

It probably helps to have played it back in the day...before everyone was faulting it for a lackluster sandbox experience in its second half and the easily abusable gameplay systems.

It's mostly that roleplaying games have a syndrome of "If it's too hard, just level up some more!", and the other way around is annoying too. When you're so overlevelled that everything is a pushover.

Well there is openID, which is meant to kinda combat that. It's not widely known amongst the populace, but surprisingly there is huge support for it out there. Both Microsoft and Facebook provides it (but dosen't use it for login :|).

Plus I seen openID used as a proof of "Ok I'm this user at website Y" on some web services, most noteable various Valve-related fansites (TF2TP being notable, google it).
